1996 Volvo 850 GLT Wagon Black exterior with a dark charcoal gray interior The GLT on the 96 Volvo denotes the topmost level of accessories and the luxury mode. I'm been a collector and restorer of vintage most of my adult life ( over 35 years ) and know what to do to bring a car back to its original near new condition. Since this one was bought for Momma in our retirement ----- that's what I did. She liked this one so much that we upgraded to a 2001 Cross Country as we plan to do some traveling in snow country in the next couple of years. When purchasing a year and half ago I picked on a car folks had owned that had taken very good basic care of like changing the timing belt when it should be, regular oil changes, regular transmission service and someone who had driven daily so it was well maintained. The mileage is actual at 109,600. When I got the car I took it to my Volvo Tech at Christopher's in Republic Mo. 417-890-1306. Any and all parts were OEM Volvo and when done right costs some money to do all that I did. I wanted the car in tip top shape to run for the next 100,000 plus miles. Below is a partial list of what I did to put Momma's car in tip top shape. A detailed list of all repairs comes with the car and is available from Christopher's. Chris has been the primo Volvo tech in this area for over 20 years. You are more than welcome to come see and drive it before the auction is over however when purchased on eBay its yours and needs to be paid for and picked up. I have it up for sale at the price I want for it but reserve is a little less so bid accordingly to own it. The title is clean and clear and in hand from the owner who traded it in and it will be delivered by me to the new buyer along with the bill of sale by overnight express mail once funds have cleared my bank. The truck is being sold without any warranty of any kind expressed or implied. I did the following to the Volvo after purchasing it. Replaced front bushings Replaced one left front suspension control arms Replaced all brakes including redoing all calipers Replaced all shocks Installed new tires balanced and four wheel alignment Replaced one wheel New A/C compressor New A/C control module New belts New hoses New rear wiper motor New wiper blades all around New exhaust pipe and muffler ( aftermarket) New Sumitomo radial tires---tires have 10,000 miles on them so are 80% tread wear left New window vent visors Re-greased and adjusted the sunroof New radio with radio code number on the back of the radio New floor mats Reconditioned the leather upholstery to bring back to like new In other words redid all things that can make a car like new or as close to new as you can get a used car. Momma wanted remote start so we installed the complete remote start system with two remotes and two keys. I've driven it enough to know what kind of mileage it gets and that's one reason I've had a tough time getting to the point of selling it. Strictly highway I can get an honest 32 MPG, In and out of town an honest 25 MPG. This is Volvo's bullet proof 5 cylinder engine and plenty of power as a Non Turbo ( avoiding any future Turbo repairs ) transmission of course has been completely serviced, flushed and runs and shifts like new. The dash, appointments, seats all actually look closer to black than the gray shown in these photos. My price is much less than it would cost to own any other Volvo wagon in this condition.
