Hi! Up for sale is a super rare and hard to find diesel Mercury Lynx Stationwagon with a FULL TANK OF GAS! I just filled it up with ALL CITY miles and averaged 38MPG. Highway average has been 50+. It is a FACTORY diesel (original engine) car. It has 28,029 miles. I can't prove that they are original. The owner I bought it from said he believed it to be original as he was told they were original, as it came from a baptist minister who had gotten the car from elderly parishioners who could no longer drive. The brake and clutch pedals would certainly look like they are original miles and the windshield appears to be the original (great shape), and the wheels are like new and believed to be original, but when you look at the wear mark on the carpet where you put your heels, it is worn. I am selling it as it is, and let you judge for yourself based on the pics. My suggestion is to guess it's turned over, just to be safe. This is a loaded up model with cruise, am/fm (with a premium button option very very rare) air conditioning, and power steering. The air and cruise don't work. The tach does not work either. It could be a fuse to fix the cruise and/or tach, I just don't know. The odometer and speedometer work just fine. The interior is overall clean. The exterior has some small rust here and there, not much. It was in a pretty good hailstorm at some point, and it shows when you get close to the car. In my opinion it just adds character...it is a 1984!! The car sits straight as an arrow and drives very very well for the year. Feels comfortable and feels tight. It is a 5 speed transmission and clutch feels great. Engine compartment was NOT detailed for the pictures (shined up with sprayed WD-40, but not degreased, etc). It is just super clean. OK, here are the negatives.... Hail damage. Some rust here and there. Diesel knock is louder due to the fuel pump being turned up just a little to high. The guy I bought it from was a 70 year old diesel mechanic and explained it very well and said it has perfect compression, power etc but said he didn't feel like turning the pump. It had been this way since he bought it and he put over a 1000 miles on the car and it didn't change while he had it. It does have tons of power. It also drips diesel fuel. It doesn't pour out, or stream out, but it does drip a little, not a lot. Maybe 5 or 6 drips after you park. The parking brake does not work. The hatchback struts are worn out and need replaced (stick included). I do believe you could literally drive it anywhere in the country. I have sold vehicles on EBAY for myself or others (including Nissan, VW, and several other car and pickup diesels)and have made every transaction a great one, so bid often, and bid with confidence!! Every person comments to me how I overdescribe, underpromise, and overdeliver, and this is my goal (see feedback!)!!! The car is sold AS IS with no warranty. NO WARRANTY means exactly what it means.
