FILE PHOTO...This is not a picture of my car! I will get pictures as soon as I can. It may be a couple weeks...The car is 150 miles away at another property that I own. My price is an asking price. Negotiation is expected...This is a DRIVER...that NEEDS COSMETICS to be a show car. Runs and drives very well. Have driven on trips of several hundred miles. All new brakes, including shoes, wheel cylinders, master cylinders, power booster unit, and any lines that were needed. The underside is not rusty. Tires are new. Recent tune up. Mechanically the car was gone through, and everything is in good shape. You can drive it to California if you like. Runs cool, smooth, powerful, and quiet. Starts instantly. No leaks. Transmission is perfect too. Stops on a dime and handles great. Front end is tight. Top is new, but not installed. Interior is original red leather, and some of the seams have separated. Has power steering, brakes, windows, seat, autronic eye, continental kit, and other options. The original color was silver. The paint was resprayed at some point with a turquoise color. The car needs cosmetics, and I would return the car to silver if I were to do the cosmetics, because it is the original color and it goes with red leather very well. We have been enjoying the car for 7 years without doing the cosmetics, because we are not perfectionists, and we enjoy the cars in their natural state, so long as the mechanics are perfect. IE safe, and reliable with no leaks or annoyances. In other words the car starts, runs, stops, and drives like new...Regardless of traffic conditions or temperature. (I have heard of fully restored cars that win car shows, but can't drive in traffic without overheating...I guess it does not matter since they are trailered everywhere anyway...why even have an engine in the car!) Needs cosmetics: chrome bumpers need work Rust is not bad. Just moderate I would say. The only place it shows is in the usual places down low behind the wheels. some sheetmetal patches would be needed there, at least on one side of the car. This is normal for a car of this age, and the fenders and quarters are very solid and rust free except for these small holes on the bottom right behind the wheels. Doors, hood, trunk, and everything else is rust free. Top frame is excellent. Top is not on the frame, so it is easy to inspect. There is surface rust on the first bow of the top frame. The heater hoses are replaced. I can't remember if I bypassed the heater cores or not. I have not gotten the car out of winter storage yet. The heater cores are good, because they were hooked up as late as last year. (I may have hooked them up again but I can't remember...I sometimes bypass them because I don't use this car in the winter). Radiator hoses and belts are replaced. Ignition switch is replaced. We did replace the battery, but that was several years ago. We have owned this car for about 7 years. This is a very solid car that only needs cosmetics. The mechanical work that is NOT needed will save much money. You can use the car as is or finish restoring it and sell for a profit. It will be worth $50k or more when the cosmetics are done. Can probably do it for $12.5k if you hire outside help. ($3k for interior and 7k for paint and bodywork, 2.5k for chrome) I know of a paint and body guy in New York state that does show quality paint jobs for $4,000. For chrome, $2,500 will do it. For the interior, the top is already provided. You can install it quite easily in one or 2 day project. Or have it installed professionaly. For the seats, there are people that make leather seat covers for these cars, to the exact original patterns. Carpet is cheap and easy to replace. This car is 100% complete, and everything works. The windows and seat motors are electric, I believe. (If the car was older they would be hydraulic) With this car, you can start with something that is nice and solid and useable, instead of starting with a basket case. Or if you are not a perfectionist, you could drive it the way it is. That is what we have been doing. If you want to drive in the rain, you will want to install the new top that comes with the car. We enjoy the car because it drives like a new one, and we can park it in the grocery store parking lot and not worry about door dings, etc. We get more joy from this car than we do with our perfect ones, because we use it more often. We are selling it because we are selling the property at which it is stored, and we have too many cars. In fact, since my father is getting older, I am selling most of our cars, because it was because of him that we have them all, and he is getting too old to enjoy them. He was the one who picked this car out. We bought it in Connecticut about 7 years ago, and drove it home. Besides what we did when we bought the car, it has not needed any work since we have had it. I did do some preventative maintenance such as hoses and belts and tires, because those items were getting old and I like replacing stuff before it breaks. The brake system overhaul was done when we bought the car, and that will not need any work for decades to come, as long as the fluid is changed every 5 years or so. It has a hydroboost system. I am starting to repeat myself. If you have questions, Email me... reagan.doug@yahoo.com I would rather deal with email than with telephone, but if the email is difficult for you, I will accept phone calls 24 hours a day. Just please don't leave phone messages. If I don't answer, I will call you back. I have caller ID and I don't need a message. I Call back all missed calls. I also have other cars too, some of which are not listed yet. Please, don't call me asking me to buy ads in your publication. Only call me if you want to buy the car. This is an ad for a car. NOT A LEAD FOR "CAR AD" SALESMEN!!!
