1979 VW Super Beetle Convertible Vehicle Overview This pretty blue 1979 Convertible comes to us from right in our own back yard - Carmel California. The car retains its original Blue California license plates. It has been in the same owners hands since 1983 purchase from the local Chevy dealer- Love Chevrolet. The car still has its plate frames on the car. The odometer shows 32,000 miles but has been broken since 1998. The owner says it hasent been driven more than 3-4k miles per year if that. The color is Florida Blue. It is a very pretty color combination and shows well. 79 was the last of the breed for the air cooled Beetle convertible...the end of a long happy run. Rubber seals look good. Interior is in excellent original condition...minor flaws such as a tear in the headliner just above the rear window. Door panels are in very good shape. The car still has its original Blaupunkt radio - in working order. Dash is in good shape and has the factory faux woodgrain. Odometer reading is not the actual mileage on the car - although the car has been serviced by the same shop since 1983. The car gets driven a few times a year and has always been garaged. A few minor paint flaws like the scratch on the threshold and by the door jams from the seat belt. A small rust spot on the driver side - pictured. The car was repained it original color and looks very clean. You can see overspay in spots but the paint itself is very nice. Body panels all look to fit very well with all panels opening and closing the way they should -easily. Nothing has to be slammed to close etc. Matching sport wheel spare w/ original Michelin X tires. Wheel is date stamped. Very clean under the hood with no rust. Underside looks very solid. One rust spot under the passenger side rear floor board. Antenna is broken. The stock 1600cc engine has just been serviced (receipts are included in addition to the one pictured - same mechanic for 20 years.) and it runs and drive excellent. Great clutch and gearbox. Good syncros in all gears. Original owners manual in the glove box. Spare keys with car. All inspections welcome. We ship world wide.
