Vehicle Detail
I am selling a 1977 International Harvester Scout Traveller. It has a V-8 345HP engine, independent leaf spring suspension, drum brakes, locking hub-caps, manual choke. All original parts It is hatchback with a removable fiberglass hard-top. 4 Wheel Drive, rear wheel permanent, front wheels manually engaged. The biggest difference between this model IH and the more commonly known scout is that the Scout Traveller had an extended wheelbase by 18" to make the entire whell-base length 118". This model had also come with an optional third row of seating however not on this model. Very low mileage for a 34 year old vehicle!!!! 40,098miles!!! It has been barn kept for over 30 years, it had a fisher plow mounted on it a few years back and was used for one winter by my grandfather to plow his driveway. I purchased this vehicle off of my grandfather a couple years back with all intentions of restoring it to showroom quality but haven't found the time. Hoping to find a buyer willing to give it the love it deserves. Does have some very minimal rust around the bottom of the truck however the undercarriage is in good condition, no pits or holes. On Apr-05-11 at 12:52:55 PDT, seller added the following information: IT DOES RUN!!!!!! On Apr-09-11 at 08:27:31 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had someone send me a message stating that they believe that this vehicle actually has over 140K miles. I will stand behind the odometer, This vehicle has been in my family since 1978. My grandfather purchased it and then the energy crisis of 1978 occured and the price of gas sky-rocketed. The traveler gets less than 10mpg so it was not used when the price jumped. I have no problem with anyone checking what needs to be checked internally to prove that this 345 V-8 in fact only has 40498 miles on it. I take offense to people suggesting I am misrepresenting this listing. If you don't believe it has the mileage stated, don't bid!!!!!
