Vehicle Detail
Pros: You are looking at a 1973 Chevrolet K5 Blazer with a rebuilt crate 350 engine in it. It also has a fresh rebuild on the transmission. Both have less than 100 miles on them. The body work and paint job are both fresh after a complete sand blasting. The interior has been redone with leather seats in the front and 3rd row seats out of a Tahoe in the back. There is diamond plating throughout and is already wired for a system in it. There is over $2000 in parts from LMC truck with new seals, dash pad and door panels. There is over $500 in heat and noise deader placed on the floor and side walls. The floor mat is plastic for easy cleaning. The instrument cluster is complete but needs a little additional work to get the voltmeter, speedometer and fuel gauge working. The speedometer only needs a new cable. There is a Quickwire wiring system installed that needs to be cleaned up and screwed into the firewall. The vehicle is ready to be inspected with horn, turn signals, and windshield wipers working. The suspension is solid with a lift kit installed and nice chrome skid plates. Cons: There is some interior work that needs to be completed - the dash needs to be installed and the instrument bezel needs to be modified to fit the new gauges. The tires are in decent shape with a good amount of tread left but there is starting to be some cracking from sitting. The rear window regulator needs to be switched over to manual or a new electric motor/ wiring needs to be installed. A dust cover needs to be installed. The A/C system is complete but needs to be reinstalled and charged (I have all parts). The condenser also needs a new line. The compressor works fine and is already installed. There is a leak in the electrical somewhere. I have tried to locate it but am unable to. (battery will go dead if not unhooked overnight) I am not an electrician so with some time and basic knowledge you would probably be able to locate the issue. There in no radio installed but wiring is pre-ran. Overall Impression: The Blazer has a strong foundation with the bulk of the work and money already spent. At the bare minimum you could get it inspected and drive it around town. I don't like driving it on the highway because it sounds like a race car and is near deafening. It is a fun vehicle that turns heads and will make you grin while driving it. This truck probably isn't for someone completely void of knowledge when it comes to working on a vehicle. It would probably make a good father / son project or a nice ride for a first car. My wife and I are trying to start a family so I have decided it is time to get rid of the unnecessary toy that has consumed me for the past 2 years. I am a reasonable guy and I am open to reasonable offers. I have pictures from the entire process of the rebuild from how it looked in 2008 (silver) to now. If you want further pictures please feel free to contact me and I can send you literally hundreds so please be specific in what you want.
