Vehicle Detail
Well after having about 100 of these shortbeds over 17 years of 67-72 part selling and whole trucks blazers and suburbans this is one of the few shortbeds I have put up for sale not running. So I know every nut bracket and bolt on these trucks you will get the whole run of info on this one. First it is a true 1972 shortbed (none of that cut frame and bed stuff) I put a very clean 68 front end on her as I like to do all the time. It makes them look lower. It has 5 lug disc brakes up front and a 5 lug drum rear end. It was originally a 4 speed truck but I made her automatic. I changed the steering column as well but still have not cut out the 4 speed tranny crossmember. I put a 350 trans and crossmember in with drive shaft. This truck has very little rust since I am in Los Angeles area. There is a little rust starting on the firewall in the usual place under the hood (corners under the cowl) not much. The core support and inner fender wells are clean. The grill has steel mouldings and headlight door which come out great after a trip to the chrome shop. All the the dash is in tack with the key in the ignition. The bed is metal floor that is impressively straight no rust. Body work was started on the bed where there was a dent and is almost done. The doors open and close nicely. The windows roll up and down. Still has 72 door panels deluxe in good shape. Bench seat is in good shape a little tore on the driver side but very solid. The back window is junk but I have and original solid glass that goes with her. The rear end is complete I put in but it does need the emergency brake cables installed which both also come with the truck. The hood is latched on by the hood latch but I will include good hood hinges. The vehicle is on a non op since 2008 and I have brand new California plates and a Clean California Title. If I had the time I could make this truck run and drive in a week but my job is 12 hours a day and I have 11 old cars and truck I am trying to build. The beauty of this truck is....it is a clean start with sheet metal. I have brand new 22 inch wheels and tires (brand new both tires and wheels never used) that are not included in the auction but to the winning bidder maybe we can strike a deal. Other than that it will come with rollers. The engine compartment was started sandblasted, red oxide primer and flat black paint but never finished. The motor mounts are there. I once had the cab and front end off to start a frame off but sat it all back on there with a few bolts so the brake lines are not connected. I was going to do another frame off but I am now playing with the old VW buses and have been distracted from these trucks lately. But not all together as you will see in some of the photos. I am now in the process of a frame off on my REAL 2wd K5 Blazer that I have owned for 16 years so this one has been and will be sitting for a while. I am going to put a fair reserve because of course I know what these trucks are worth. Don't worry I am not trying to hit the Lotto on this one but I do want to keep it fair for us both. I probably have more to say and I will later but for now here are some pics. I will get more pics soon. The truck has been lowered front and back by pulling the coils out and cutting them with a cut off wheel.....this works perfect and saves you from wasting your money with drop spindles and lowering springs. I have been lowering all my 2wd in this manner and my ride is very smooth at 80mph. Good luck on your bidding!!!! Any further questions just feel free to call me on my Cell 310-213-1658.On Apr-04-11 at 15:02:46 PDT, seller added the following information: I just added 8 more photos and also the engine compartment pics after some sandblasting and red oxide primer. Be advise the engine compartment has not been finished painting some most of it is primered and black paint but needs finishing.
