the best thing about having an unemployed bodyman/painter for a friend is getting a great deal on restoring my little cars!! the history of this one as best i could put together is that it was brought over from sicily in the 90's by a military guy. it was restored at that time and the more powerful 650 engine installed but the original transmission was kept. it is the non-synchronized type . the body was flared to accept the wide tires and rims. the guy i got it from bought it in florida in 2004. he drove it a while but it just sat for the last 4 years. the body was in decent shape with very minimal rust. the underbody is almost perfect. the paint was very faded but no dents or accidents. my buddy has time on his hands so i threw him the business and he did a great job. the paint is real smooth and bright, the stripes and trim look amazing. the interior was cleaned up and the car has the rare highback bucket seats that recline and have little headrests. the 650 engine wasn't running when i got it. the carb was solid with gunk so i put on a new carb and purged the gas. now it starts instantly and has lots of power. the steering and front end are real tight. the lights, blinkers, wipers, horn and heat/defrost all work. the car is NOT PERFECT but is very sound and everything works. it is a very good car that starts right up and goes straight down the road. it isn't a show car but is a very good car for a very fair price. i can assist with shipping at your expense. any questions, please feel free to call me, dave, at 908-305-6861
