This 1951 Ford Pick Up was purchased approximately 26 years ago by a man in California. As his station in life improved he started restoring this beautiful truck. It became his project and he did not want to rush it or skimp on the restoration. After several years the 51 was taken to a professional fabricator in Rancho Cordova California who installed an early 70's Camaro clip in the front end, he tubbed it and installed a 4 link rear end. The bed and fenders were fabricated to allow for the 18.5 Mickey Thompson tires. A 32 gallon fuel cell was installed as part of the tubbing fabrication. After the body was finished a couple of years pasted and a 327 ci engine and Turbo 400 Transmission were installed. They were rebuilt by a shop in Sacramento California. Smith gages were installed, all are in working condition. It took a few more years to save the money and have the 51 painted but eventually Ace Body Shop in Lincoln California received the truck and painted it with "Olympia Beer Colors." What can I say the owner liked Olympia Beer and wanted a truck similar to the Oly design. He did change a few items on the airbrushing to avoid trade mark or copyright infringements. The 51 has pen striping inside and outside the truck. I have never been a big pin striping fan but this is really well thought out and well done. There's new BFG's on the front, the rears are about 80 percent. This 51 truck is really fast and drives great. As you can see there's lots of chrome and big rubber on the truck.This 51 has won its class in many car shows in Idaho, Oregon and California.
