Vehicle Detail
Note that I had been listing this in eBay local classifieds and the reserve price is reduced greatly from what I had been asking. I’m ready to sell! I have a 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II nova for sale. My father and I have had the car since 1997. The previous owner had it since the early 1980s and I have documentation for the owner before him going back to 1967. Documentation includes 1967 bill of sale, registration, and service log book with receipts. Always garaged and covered. The car was originally a straight 6 cylinder with a 3 speed manual column shift but is modified as follows: - 350 cu. in. V8 - Turbo 350 automatic with shift kit and B&M shifter. - Traction bars - 3 piece rally wheels (I was told they are from a 1967 corvette, I have all 5 original wheels and I was told the spare tire is one of the original tires). - Aluminized dual exhaust - 3.36 10 bolt posi rear - Holley 600 cfm 4 barrel carb - Edelbrock streetmaster intake - Approx. 58,000 miles on the car. - The 3 tone paint job is 4 coats of lacquer and two coats of clear coat. It's blue metal flake above purple metal flake and the silver stripe is painted on. - The interior is original except for the seat covers. -An AM FM cassette player was added and speakers were installed on the rear deck. The car was originally radio delete. - Gauges added: Tach, temp, volts, oil pressure. The car is largely in original condition with the exception the drivetrain, paint job, and the other things I mentioned like wheels, seat covers, radio, etc. It is very clean and in show condition. I've had it in many of the local car shows over the years and have always gotten positive comments on it. You can't drive far without getting a thumbs up. I’ve even stopped traffic once or twice. The paint job makes it a real head turner. There are a few issues however that need to be mentioned. I'm not hiding anything here: - The car hesitates and sometimes stalls if it's too cold or too hot. This should be taken care of by a carb rebuild or replacement. - It should probably have a bit of a tune up: replace fuel filter, plugs, wires, points. - The radio does not sound great. You could either replace it and the speakers with something better or just remove it and leave it as it was originally built. - Finally, the fuel gauge recently stopped working. It always shows full. I am currently researching this issue and may be able to fix it, no guarantee. The car is sold as is and the sale is final. It is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early at any time. I have the clear title in my hand. You are welcome to arrange to see the vehicle in person before you bid or ask any questions before you bid. It is located in suburban Philadelphia, PA. A $1000 non-refundable deposit will be required within 24 hours of auction close. I will accept the deposit via PayPal but not the full payment. See payment options tab for more information. Winning bidder must contact me within 48 hours of auction end to make arrangements for payment. If no contact has been made at that time I reserve the right to relist, sell it to the next highest bidder, or not sell it. Vehicle and title will not be released to buyer until full payment is made and funds are verified. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle. If you wish to have it shipped using a service please coordinate the details with me. The final price of the car does not include shipping. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I'd be happy to give more details. Call or Text Tom at 267-536-9444. Please leave a message if I’m unavailable. On Apr-04-11 at 12:12:17 PDT, seller added the following information: I've added pictures to a photobucket account. http://s1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee454/carrguy1/ There are 42 total pictures. Included are pictures of: - the interior - odometer - glove box (where you can see original factory/dealership stickers from Potamkin Chevrolet that used to be on Broad Street in Philadelphia - this car has been local to south east PA it's whole life) - VIN plate - heater controls - underside of solid floor pans - close-up of Rally wheels (possibly from 1967 Corvette showing "Disc Brakes" - note that the car has drum brakes) - service log book and some of the records I have going back to 1967. Also note that I mentioned in my answer to someone's question that the door panels were not ripped. The passenger panel (pictured) is not and is very good. The driver side panel (not pictured) must have had a small rip in it near the bottom in the past and one of the previous owners must have had it patched. I just want that mentioned so no one can say I left it out. Update on the fuel gauge. I tried grounding out the wire that plugs into the sending unit which should have made the needle move to empty if the gauge was good. If that happened the problem would have been with the sending unit. The needle did not move, however, so that may mean an issue with the gauge itself. I've seen reproduction gauges for about $80 but I may not get a chance to get one and put it in. Remember, ask any and all questions. I will answer them as completely and honestly as I can. I'm seeing cars that are basket cases and need complete restoration go for not to much less than the current bid on this car. I don't think my reserve is outrageous considering the condition of those cars vs. this car. I never thought I'd sell this car and I still feel like maybe I shouldn't but something else has caught my eye and to get that I need to sell this. Let's help each other out and let's get it sold!
