SquareTrade © AP6.0Up for sale is a RUNNING PROJECT 1984 Corvette. I bought this for my wife and I to restore and enjoy but unfortunately personal financial issues have come up forcing us to have to sell it. This is a 1984 Targa Top (removal roof) Chevrolet Corvette 2-Seat sports car with a Cross-Fire injection 350 V8 and I'm asking a meager $2,000 for it but if that's not low enough I'm happy to accept the best offer I get for it - this must go NOW. Great investment opportunity - this is the rarest of the production base C4's and is a soon to be classic; every Corvette over 30 yrs old has seen it's value dramatically increase at 30-35 years of age and the rarest of these often go in the $100's of thousands of dollars. General Description 1984 Corvette:The fourth generation Corvette was the first all-new Corvette since 1963. Production was to begin for the 1983 model year but quality issues and part delays resulted in only 44 1983 model prototypes being produced which were never sold. All of the 1983 prototypes were destroyed except one with a white exterior, medium blue interior, L83 350ci, 205HP V8, and 4-speed automatic transmission. After extensive testing and modifications were completed, it was initially retired as a display sitting in a external wall over the Bowling Green Assembly Plant's employee entrance. Later this only surviving 1983 prototype was removed, restored and is now on public display at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It is still owned by GM.Regular fourth generation production began on January 3, 1983 as the 1984 model year and delivery to customers began in March 1983. The 1984 model carried over the 350 cu in (5.7 L) L83 "Crossfire" V8 engine from the final 1982 third generation model. New chassis features were aluminum brake calipers and an all-aluminum suspension for weight savings and rigidity. The new one piece targa top had no center reinforcement. A new electronic dashboard with digital liquid crystal displays for the speedometer and tachometer was standard. Beginning in 1985, the 230 bhp (170 kW) L98 engine with tuned port fuel injection was the standard engine - Making the 1984 Corvette with the L83 Crossfire the rarest production base C4. Mechanical:It starts and runs - just needs a jump/alternator to get started and stay started. I've been able to drive it twice (onto an auto transport and around my old house.I'm not making any guarantees to the quality of any of the specific parts only that it will start and run if you can get it jumped and it will stay running if you get a new alternator for it - I strongly urge you to not consider anything other than doing a full restoration on it.I installed new Bosch Platinum +4 Plugs (don't need to be changed for 150,000+ miles), Belt, Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil, K&N Filter; the previous owner drained the fuel tank and installed a new filter before restarting. The 350 V8s they put in these cars are the same basic 350 Chevy used for years but with the cross-fire intake manifold for emissions reasons so parts are easy to come by . I can give you links to companies that specialize in performance parts for the cross-fire as well as the basic 350 V8 for affordable prices. Body:Body is straight but needs paint. It has a Ferrari body kit on it which the previous owners installed - not my cup of tea but to each his own.No rust as body is light-weight fiberglass. Interior:Interior needs nothing short of a complete rip-out and re-do. We've already done a great deal of ripping out the carpet, trim, and old seats (they were completely destroyed) you just need to finish the job - GREAT stress reliever :). This will NOT include new carpet or seats. I can sell you new, grey, carpet - entire car kit: $300.00 ($370 + shipping at zip-corvette.com)I can sell you new, black, "leather" seats (one shown in pictures) 2 for $200.00 Both items can be purchased via cash at vehicle pickup. Electronics:Need mostly complete restoration - mostly just interior stuff. Digital Dash is non-op to the best of my knowledge. Title & Registration:The previous owner had this sitting for years and hadn't kept it registered as well as having lost the title for it and I haven't had the chance to get the new title and update the registration for it. What this means for you is that upon receipt of payment and signing of the DMV-provided Bill of Sale (for proof of sale) I will help you get started on the lien sale process which will affordably, easily, and legally transfer ownership to you. This is a great project for any parent & child or husband & wife - get it now while the getting's good! THIS WILL REQUIRE A TOW!
