Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE I purchased this 1962 Porsche T-6 Ruetter Coupe several years ago to restore. The longtime retired owner lived nearby and I tried for years to convince him to sell this matching# car he had stopped driving many years ago due to both his, and the car's, age. He told me he had originally bought it when it was a couple of years old, and had had the original engine rebuilt about 10,000 miles before he parked it at his Central Florida home. The car's odometer shows 16,839 and he said that was 116,839. The correct Florida title goes with the sale. I recently completed a 64 C Coupe long restoration at a local shop and decided that 1 356 is enough to own at this time and my age so I am selling this, and 1 other 356 car needing restoration. I recommend inspection of the car before bidding, and this, as well as questions about the car, can be managed by calling the Restoration Shop in Central Florida @352 466 4478. This 62 356B has engine # 608589*, the 1600 engine that came with the car. It starts, runs, and the car drives, but the gas tank needs to be cleaned and refurbished with POR or another process. I have run the car out of a gas can to keep any tank residue out of the engine. My mechanic replaced the front drum brakes and brake lines with the Zims DISC BRAKE kit because the originals were stuck, changed the points and plugs, and adjusted the carbs when I bought the car. In place is the original Becker Monte Carlo radio, speakers, mirrors, seats, sun visors, all gauges, switches, knobs, etc. The muffler is an after market installed many years ago. The Lemmerz wheels are dated: 3/60, 3-62(2), & 4/61. There is a crack in the windshield, but all other glass is not cracked. I may have a new, in factory Porsche windshield I would sell separately. The car will need the usual 356 restoration repair of floors, door bottoms, longitudinal, and rockers: all parts are available from Restoration Design, Stoddard, and several other reliable suppliers. Most of the Blue paint appears to be original, except for the driver front fender and I don't think there is much filler in the body. This is a great opportunity to buy an unmolested original 356 at a fair price. Seller reserves the right to end the auction early if the car is sold. Buyer is responsible for arranging all shipping, packing, and pick up with 14 days of sale unless other arrangements are made with the Restoration shop owner @352 466 4478 in advance. A non refundable $500 Pay pal deposit is due from to buyer to seller within 48 hours of auction end. Balance is due by 7 days after auction end in US dollars cash, or certified check from USA bank.
