Vehicle Detail
Up for no reserve auction here is a 1988 Suzuki Lt250r quad racer. It is in good shape overall and has been taken care of well.I have been away from bikes for a few years and thought I had the itch agian.I would love to keep this but I have a car I am trying to finish a build on and this money would put me that much closer. This is not you normal beat up unmaintaned 4 wheeler, people that see this have a hard time believing it is a 1988.Here is the history as far as I know it, I got the quad a few months ago needing a top end job. The previous owner had it for 8 years and said it just didnt get ridden much. When I pulled the cylinder to do the top end it was still standard bore, a cylinder going 23 years without needing a bore is a good sign it didn't see a whole lot of ride time.Of coarse there is also a chance the cylinder was replaced at one time but who knows. The lt250r's in 1988 are a 250cc water cooled engine that also use the powervalve and a 6 speed gearbox. The lt's are basically what started atv mx and the very well known Honda 250r was made to compete with Suzuki quad racer in the atv market. The lt's came out one year before honda's 250r (1985) and continued production three years after it as well (1992). The main differances in the two are honda's had a little better handling, less power, as they didnt incorporate the powervalve in their engines but now produce a cylinder kit to add a powervalve..... Now back to the quad for sale. Overall nice fast bike with tons of play time left. The only issue with the bike at this moment is it needs a carb kit, can be had on Ebay no problem for $20. The bike runs great but loses power on top end, I believe it is going a little lean. Other than that the engine is very strong and it has alot of aftermarket/new parts on it. I have reciepts for all of the parts that were purchased. The bike has two hours TOPS on it after the top end, that is a very high guess on hours and I am including idle time. Here is the list of what is on it and what is new. Yzf 450 head lights wired up to work just as they should. This makes the quad look 100 times better than the original light. Aluminum bars Dg front bumper Dg nerf bars Aftermarket a-arms I also believe the rear axle is aftermarket but not 100% sure, it looks wider than most lt's Douglas wheels all the way around, with Maxxis razr tires on front and back tires are in good shape. They are not very old.... New plastics Sprocket specialties rear sprocket Full fmf exhaust (pipe and silencer) Boyesen rad valve with brand new boyesen reeds K and N air filter Fresh top end Obviously the cylinder was bored, honed and chamfered. This was all done by what is probably the best atv, dirtbike and go-kart machine shop in Indiana. They have done our cylinders for well over ten years. Wiseco .030 piston, rings and wristpin Genuine Suzuki wrist pin bearing for rm250 and billet aluminum thrust washers. If your not familiar with using these parts google it. They are a much better way to go than oem thrust washers and wiseco wrist pin bearing. Full cometic gasket set Factory Suzuki service manual on cd will be included Please feel free to ask any questions and bid with confidence, if you would like to speak over the phone just email me and I will send you my number or send me yours. If you would like additional pictures it is no problem at all. Please note that the quad is also for sale locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time. There will be a bill of sale given so you can title it if yoou would like. If you bid be sure you have the funds and every intention on buying this bike, I am very busy and cannot afford to have my time wasted by non paying bidders. The auction will end early in the morning onWednesday March 29th. I would like for it to be picked up no later than Sunday April 3rd 2011, if you need a little more time this can be discussed.
