Complete Records from Mercedes Dealership in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Ebony Black with Palomino Leather - No Smoke, No Snow, No Salt I am reluctantly selling my beautiful 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL Roadster. This is a collector's Mercedes which was purchased in 1988 in King of Prussia, PA by a 65 year old gentleman who kept this extremely unusual SL in showroom condition and completely original for 20 years upon selling it in 2008 at age 85. The original sales receipt is in the glove compartment and shows when he purchased this 560 SL new he traded in his older Mercedes 450 SL. The Mercedes service records show he maintained it way beyond meticulously. This Mercedes has been driven extremely sparingly during 23 years of ownership and has spent it's 23 years in two climate controlled private collections in King Of Prussia, PA and Dallas, Texas. It was brought to Cape Coral, Florida two months ago. The body on this car is in incredible condition and has been extremely well maintained. The car still has it's gorgeous original Mercedes Ebony Black paint. Let me make that clear. This car has not been repainted. The paint is original from the factory. This car is straight as an arrow, solid as a rock and looks spectacular. Absolutely everything about this car is original from the factory including the 15” wheels and the Becker stereo. Believe it or not this car has been kept so immaculate the original Pirelli P6 tires from 1988 and the original Mercedes battery in the car were just changed out for the very first time in August of 2010, a few months ago. The tires were replaced with Pirelli P6 tires as specified for the car from Mercedes. The black cloth top is also the original top and it is in immaculate condition as well with a clear vinyl window. The hardtop is original and in immaculate condition as is the headliner of the hardtop. The interior is in great shape all around. The dash and door panels are like new. The palomino leather seats are in extraordinary condition and show no wear whatsoever including no rips or rub marks, no fading, no weak spots and no stains whatsoever. The leather is still thick and stands up like new. The carpets are equally well kept and have no stains, rips, fading or wear whatsoever and have been protected by the original Mercedes floor mats it's entire 23 years. All gauges, dials, lights, controls, etc function as they should including the power windows, antenna, heat and AC. The clock keeps time and works properly. Not many Mercedes 560Sl sellers can honestly say that. The lights around the sun visor mirrors even work. There is absolutely nothing about the car which is not working properly including the original Becker stereo. The trunk compartment has been kept as nice as the interior and the trunk carpeting is like new. The original jack and tool package are there and in place. All exterior rubber on bumpers is in excellent condition, and not dried out or faded like almost all 560's currently for sale. Mechanically this SL runs GREAT. The car starts right up and shifts very smooth. It drives as nice and firm as ever and feels very strong. The ride is very smooth. The V8 engine is quick and responsive. It is reliable, easy to fix and parts are readily available. This car had an original sales price of $65,000 all the way back in 1988. Asking $24,900 OBO. If seriously interested contact me to view.
