PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS ITEM IF YOU REQUIRE A TITLE. The reason I am selling is because of the difficulty I have had in obtaining a duplicate title as I describe below. I bought this Xterra on Ebay and the seller never sent me the title and the engiine did not run as described in the listing. Ebay refunded me the purchase price under the purchase protection plan and let me keep the vehicle since there is a problem with the engine. I had the local Nissan dealer and an independent auto mechanic esttimate the engine repairs. Both gave me similar estimates. I could replace the engine with a used one having 80,000 miles on it for about $4000 or repair the exisiting one by replacing one of the CAMs for about $2000. Either of those options would be great except that neither Ebay nor I have been able to get the actual title document for the vehicle. So even if I fix it I could not get plates for it. Supposedly there is a way to get a title called a "bonded title" or through a court order. All of that is just too much hassle for me so I am selling the vehicle as is. Someone else may try and get a title for it, use it for parts, or simply fix the engine and use it as a farm vehicle or something. If a title is provided at some point after the engine is repaired the vehicle would probably be worth $6000 or so based on KBB values. I just want to get back some of what I have put in to the vehicle which unfortunately for me exceeds the Buy It Now price. As such, I am listing it for only $1400 starting price with NO RESERVE and hope someone may have a use for it. The ideal buyer for this vehicle is someone who meets one or more of the following criteria: 1. Does not need a TITLE for this vehicle because I DO NOT HAVE ONE. 2. Can get a "BONDED TITLE" 3. Can use the rest of the vehicle for parts 4. Wants to fix it and use it in a way that would not require plates such as a farm or utility vehicle. Also, this vehicle is the 4 wheel drive version PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU INTEND TO BUY THE VEHICLE AS IS WITH NO TITLE AVAILABLE While I do not want to discourage New Ebay Bidders or others from this auction I will require any one with a less that 5 Feedback Score or ZERO / (0) feedback bidders to contact me first so I can make sure you understand the process and intend to buy before you bid. It MIGHT BE, COULD BE, MAYBE possible for you to obtain a title in some other fashion that I am not aware of ..... or possibly by obtaining a "bonded title". However, I do not have the time or patience for that and I am simply trying to earn back some of what I lost in buying this vehicle. Ebay refunded me the full amount of my purchase since I did not receive a title however I had already had it shipped and inspected at my expense. I would like to recoup some of that or whatever the market value ends up being at this auction. AGAIN - PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED THAT YOU MIGHT NEVER GET A TITLE. THAT IS A POSSIBILITY. Without a title it is unlikely you will be able to legally register this vehicle and obtain plates. As such, the successful bidder may only want the vehicle for parts, as a farm vehicle, or as even an extremely high end golf cart.:-) I have no idea how it may be best used without plates but someone else may and that is the type of bidder this auction seeks.
