I am sure you may know some of the history on the E39 BMW platform. In the M5 trim it is known to most enthusiasts as the best BMW that was ever produced to this day. Was also the fastest production 4 door car and with near perfect 50/50 weight distribution makes it both absurdly practical and infinitely desirable. When BMW replaced the E39 M5 with the E60 M5, they blew it. By trying to top themselves, by transforming the ultimate muscle car into a hi-tech cruise missile. Ok, Ok I'm done with that. Southern unit that is virtually rust free. I will start with the bad. The clutch in the car is slipping. It will run and drive. I have looked around online and have seen independent shops that will do the job for right around $1200-1500 including labor. Only 125,055 miles. Tires are in good shape at all four corners. Interior is good shape with no major defects besides wear on the driver and passenger seats. Missing floor mats. No evidence of smoking. Two programmable keys, books, window sticker, and leather bound folder included. As you can see from the photographs the cars exterior is in great shape with only typical wear from age. No rust noted anywhere, as it has always been in nice climate. Nothing that would need to be corrected with paintwork. Several dings in the drivers door under the window and one in the passenger side fender right behind the headlamp. Neither have paint damage and could be corrected with PDR for about $100 dollars. Misc surface scratches that would easily buff out. The car looks as if it has had a 3M clear bra on the front since new so stone chips are not a huge deal. The clear bra was also applied to the mirrors and door edges. Ok I am picky so here are the flaws on the car other than the slipping clutch. Left Rear wheel shadow chrome peeling (typical on these wheels), PDR on dings in the door and right front fender, Condition Leather & Replace floor mats, Wetsand, buff, claybar exterior, Rear view mirror "leaking" autodim (also common on all e39 models)Several burnt out digital pixels on instrument cluster (very common on these) fixed by BMWNA with an "unwritten warranty" more info here: BMWNA free or low cost pixel repair Slight whine to power steering pump (more than likely fixed with a fluid flush) You could live with most of the imperfections as they are purely cosmetic.
