Vehicle Detail
I've owned the car since 1987. It was purchased out of the Atlanta Ga. area. It was all original but driven. The car had been repainted at some point before I bought it. Over the years I've tried to keep it as original as possible...only rebuilding or replacing whatever it took to keep it solid and drivable. I've not done a thing to the body since I've owned it. The 440 engine was rebuilt in 1989. Have all receipts from the work that was done. I've put about 14,000 miles on it since the rebuild. Was rebuilt with a 71 block. The original had a patch welded to it where a freeze plug would have been. I decided not to use that block for the rebuild. The orginal 68 crank...connecting rods and 906 heads were machined to the 71 block. It has an Edelbrock 750cfm Performer carb with the matching Performer RPM intake and a MP Street Hemi cam. Has the original 68 HP exhaust manifolds into a Year One reproduction h pipe system with Hooker mufflers. MP electronic ignition conversion kit. The orginal 727 trans was rebuilt around the same time. Stock torque converter. The interior has had the carpet replaced. Seat covers and door panels recovered. Also a new dash pad. Needs the headliner replaced. I have one from Year One but it's not installed. All the factory gauges work. It has an after market tach but the orginal still works. Just have to hook it back up. Front end has been rebuilt with new bushings. MP Super Stock springs in the back. 8 3/4 rear end...3:23 gears...limited slip has never been touched since I've owned it. Makes no noise. The front pinion seal leaks some when the car sits for a period of time. The car runs strong and smooth and very reliable. The cam gives it a slight choppy idle. It has no power steering or brakes. I do have the original AM 8 track radio. Everything the fender tag says it should have...it has. The body does have a few small rust issues. But it still has the original southern sheet metal. Both sides of the body are straight. The under carraige is very solid. Trunk...floor boards...firewall all good. It looks like the underneath has never been touched. It's been a good solid car for me all these years and has never left me stranded. It would make a great platform for a restoration or just drive it and enjoy like I have without spending a fortune. PLEASE...IF YOU CAN'T PAY...DON'T BID !!!!!!!!!
