Vehicle Detail
Offered for sale is a well looked after, unique and head-turning example of a 1963 Pontiac Bonneville Coupe. Finished in deep silver over a beautifully contrasting white interior, the car's lines and accents make it look indelibly elegant while retaining the guttiness of 1960s American design. This is further aided by custom chrome wheel caps on the black steel wheels and the fact that the car has been professionally (and tastefully) lowered three inches with the installation of shorter springs. The paint itself, while about a decade old, is a high quality job that shows only the most minimal of imperfections (rock chip here and there, etc.), none of which were significant enough to show up in any of the pictures. The body is straight, the original chrome and glass are both in good shape and the gaps and panel fits are perfect. The car looks as good in person as it does in the pictures. The car's interior is just as clean, having been professionally redone with the exception of the door panels. Seats, carpets, headliner, etc. are all excellent, as is the dash, which is free of warping, cracking or any other flaws. The interior chrome is original, but it very good condition, as are the wood inlays. The original radio is still in the dash, but a modern day unit was added underneath the dash to improve sound while keeping the car as original as possible. All of the power windows work and all of the car's weather-stripping has been replaced. The car's 389, four-barrel carburated engine starts easily, idles smoothly at a wonderful rumble and pulls strongly through each of the gears under acceleration. The transmission has been rebuilt and the car has recent brakes, a recent cooling system, shocks and a dual Magnaflow exhaust. The car runs extremely strong and could be driven anywhere. The only potential concerns are minor: the car leaks a small amount of oil (never enough for the owner to consider resolving the problem, instead remaining mindful of adding a quart every couple months) and the AC is not working (never been a problem in the owner's climate). The car has never been subjected to the elements, always garaged and cared for. The owner has ALL of the maintenance records, including those from the original owner, as well as the original owners manual and comprehensive shop manual. This car has truly been cared for by a true enthusiast and it's condition reflects that fact. This is a rare opportunity at a beautiful and unique car. Please bid accordingly. Please free to email me or give me a call at (805) 708-2404 or (805) 886-1823 if you have any additional questions or would like to make a deal. This car is a consignment car for a family friend and the car will be available for viewing by appointment only. I have plenty of experience shipping cars - both nationally and internationally - and would happily help coordinate with my own shipping contacts upon your request. Please feel free to view my site at GoodmanReed for the rest of our collection. While I have a California dealer license, I’m not your typical dealer. I’ve always had an appreciation for classic European cars and have always bought and sold them to create a kind of very small revolving personal collection. This has led me to meet many other car enthusiasts, including the owner of this Bonneville. I try to give accurate descriptions of the cars I’m selling, but I’m not an expert and I encourage and am happy to help facilitate personal or professional inspections. But please do so before bidding, as the alternative harms my ability to make sales with other interested parties who have done their proper due diligence before bidding. For U.S. buyers a 10% non-refundable deposit is required within 3 days of the auction's end, the balance to be paid within 7 days of the auction's end. Foreign buyers must pay in full within 7 business days of auction’s end. Buyer is responsible for shipping, however I'd be more than happy to help with recommendations and arrangements. The car is listed locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time should it sell prior to auction's end. Thanks for your interest.
