Vehicle Detail
You are looking at my 1970 Mercury Cougar Convertible that has 65,000 original documented miles. It is a California car . This car has absolutley no rust. This is a true survivor. It runs great! It has a 351 Windsor with a FMX transmission, power steering, brakes and factory A/C. It also has Factory AM/FM Stereo and power windows. It was an elderly gentleman's car who bought it new and it was parked it his garage from 1985 until 2010. Everything is original except for what it took to get it back on the road. The radiator, gas tank, battery cables, belts and hoses were replaced. The carburetor was rebuilt and the gas lines flushed. It does have a new dual exhaust with magnaflow mufflers, but I do have the original exhaust (very nice cond) that can be easily put back on. The original interior is very nice with no rips or tears. the carpet shows some wear in spots, but is also very nice. It has the original paint that still looks good and has the usual wear for 40 year old paint. There are 2 stains in the paint on the trunk, a dent on the hood and one on the trunk lid that you can see in the pics. Not sure where it came from. The bumpers are nice and the rest of the chrome has the usual pitting. I do have the original wheels and hubcaps that will go with the car. If you have any questions, feel free to email me. This car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. A $500 non refundable deposit is due through PayPal within 24 hours of auctions end. On Mar-12-11 at 21:17:42 PST, seller added the following information: Here are the answers to some of the questions that have been asked: The brakes are good and work as they should. The master cylinder was replaced and the lines flushed. The A/C is not working and has not been touched or charged. All the windows work like they should. The top is in decent shape but should be replaced. It does have a small tear where something poked a hole, about 1 1/2 inches long. The rear window is the 2 piece glass and one of the glass is broken. I do get a few drops of oil after it has been sitting for a while.
