Vehicle Detail

Fabulously fun "autobox" Mini 1000! You'll be the only one on your block with one of these! Designed by Sir Alec Issigonis and built by British Leyland, this authentic little Mini 1000 is the quintessential British microcar. The 998cc Austin I4 runs like new. Starts on the first turn, no smoke, no oil burn. The 4 speed automatic is an absolute blast to drive - shifts smartly and smoothly through all gears and cruises comfortably at 55 - 60 MPH. All of this while sipping gas at a miserly 40+ miles per gallon! With gas prices where they are today this is a highly justifiable toy. The bronze brown paint is in very good shape with just a few minor imperfections. The original interior is nearly perfect - no rips or tears and the headliner is very good. The floor and trunk pan are solid and the glass is excellent. The windows all function properly, the doors and boot lock and I have a full set of keys. All of the electrics function as they should - lights, horn, heater blower, turn signals, etc. You name it, it works. Nothing broken, nothing missing. The tires have lots of life remaining and there is a good spare. There is even a hubcap for the spare. The original jack is in place and there is a brand new battery under the battery box lid. It is nearly as clean underneath as it is above. As a hobby I import and restore Series Land Rovers (hence the ebay name). I stumbled on this Mini while on a LR hunt and just could not resist. If I was not in the middle of an extensive (expensive) Series 2A restoration, I'd keep this. I've driven it every day since picking it up at the port and have put a couple of hundred miles on it. It really is fun to drive. It draws a crowd wherever you park it - people are fascinated by it. The miles seemed impossibly low to me, but I received 10+ years of MOT records with the car and it proves out. In 2000, the car showed roughly 19,000 miles, so I'm as confident as I can be that the miles are true. The condition of the car certainly supports it. There were a total of 4 owners, and the last kept it dry stored since 2005. Other than a radiator flush and oil change, I've not done a thing to the car. I could go on and on about Mini's, but if you're reading this you probably are already a fan. There are countless clubs and enthusiasts on the internet and parts and accessories are readily available from many sources. Wiki has a very complete history on the Mini. Check it out at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini Feel free to ask questions through the ebay system or call Eric at (843) 321-1648. Listed with NO RESERVE, so bid to buy it. DO NOT BID if you do not have the funds available to complete the transaction. Bidders with less than 3 transactions must contact me before bidding to define your intentions. I am happy to help with shipping arrangements, but costs to transport are the Buyer's responsibility. Just to be clear, the car was legally imported to the US by me and I will provide a clear, marketable SC title upon sale. Good luck!
