Vehicle Detail

First: This AMX is in LA California. I was asked by a long time friend to sell this car for him. Life isn’t what one expects and changes in life are inevitable, so the decision was made to sell this Awesome AMX. The owner loved this car so much he owned it twice. Since I was part of this car from the first purchase to the second, repairs in between, and now I have been asked to help sell this beautiful AMX. This 1970 AMX is in great shape. Even though a percentage of its Life was in Wisconsin it is rust free. The car has a newer paint job. It is an original Bittersweet Orange 390 AMX To see over 300 more pictures go to...If your serious about this AMX these pics can help you see many different views of the car!!!!! http://s302.photobucket.com/albums/nn112/aljav71/Jeffs%20AMX/?start=all · Engine: The Original 390 was never in the car since originally purchased by current owner. It has a great running 360 with Edelbrock Carb. It does have free Flow exhaust manifolds. I have never had the Valve covers off to see the numbers on the heads. Have no idea what year the motor is. The Intake manifold number is 3195532, which is a 70 360 and 390 manifold. · The car: was painted several years ago. It appears to be very close to the original color. It is a very nice paint. If you are looking for a concours type of paint this is not the car. The body is rust free, but I am sure at one time there was a little body work done to the rear quarters. You can see some body work on the edges and some small bubbling also on the lowest edges of the rear quarters. The car has been sitting near a tree and some sap got on the paint. I washed the car and tried to remove as much as I can. Some remained. I did not have the time or the equipment to properly buff this car so some remains and you will need to address this. There a only a few scratches and no dents. After a quick clean up this car looked awesome. This AMX also has the functioning Ram Air with all the parts! · Interior: New headliner, seats, carpet, door panels and new aftermarket gauges for vacuum, oil pressure and amps. All other interior parts was refinished and painted with interior vinyl die. New Leather Seat covers are of great quality and look super. A couple of trim pieces in the rear are cracked. Included in the sale are some new rear plastic trim pieces. (see Pictures) Including original seat belts as the owner wanted newer and safer belts installed in the car when he drove it with his family. The front windshield pillar trim are loose, and should be a easy fix. As a whole the interior is excellent condition. The carpet looks great and the fit is perfect. Door plates are shiny and new. Dash looks exceptionally nice, it’s not often to see this nice of a dash on 70 AMX. Console is in very nice shape, little wear due to age. The headliner was done a few years ago with the rest of the interior but is starting to sag. Which is a shame because it looks like a real nice material used. This car has been converted to power windows. While not original, they work great and are an awesome addition to the car. It also has a newer replacement trunk mat. Electrical: The less than reliable factory Motorola alternator has been replaced with a trouble free GM Delco Alternator 65 AMP, The gas gauge is not working. All other electrical parts of the car appear to be functioning properly · Gaskets and seals: Weather strips are in good shape and seal well. I washed the car with a higher pressure hose and had very little leaks past the side windows. The front and rear windows sealed perfect. · Glass: The glass has very little scratches. I am amazed with the glass looking so good for a 40 year old car. They cleaned up real well. Rear window has some factory sealer that needs to be cleaned from the edges of the glass but this does not affect the window sealing. · Wheels and Tires: Tires are in very good shape with at least 80% tread life. Wheels are original magnum 500 with very nice center caps. Trim rings are in very good shape. · Exhaust: The exhaust is stock. It is great shape and quite. This is not a loud car. Very nice to jump in and enjoy the drive. · Brakes: Brakes: 1971-1974 AMC Kelsey Hayes Front Brakes. Rear drum brakes are in good shape. Brakes work great on this AMX and has no problem stopping at all. · Shocks: Newer front and rear shocks · Transmission: Borg Warner Automatic Transmission. Transmission shifts excellent. I drove this car around the neighborhood of Silver Lake In LA which has some serious hilly streets and it never missed a beat. Either on the running of the motor and/or the shifting of the transmission, it was flawless. The floor shifter in the counsel looks and work fine. · Air Conditioner: All the equipment appears to be there. Possibly a recharge would get it working. It is something that has never been tried. So the AC is an unknown, but with all the pieces it can be repaired. · Exterior Trim and Bumpers: All the trim and emblems are on the car are in good shape. Paint has faded on emblems and can easily be redone to look new. Bumper are straight and the chrome is above average. · Grille: Grille has a cracks/broken on a few of the ribs. Very hard to notice unless very close looking and some easy glue or epoxy repair will make the grill perfect. Otherwise grill is a very good shape · Tail Lights: Both tail light housings and center AMX reflector lens housing are very nice shape. No pitting or bad fading. The lenses are clear with no cracks or fading. Very nice condition even for its age · Rear Differential: The car has a factory limited slip unit. It’s been years since I changed the fluid but I would think it’s 3:15 rear gears. No noises when driving form the rear diff. factory Toque Links are on the car. Front Suspension: Suspension has had new busing in the control arms and ball joints installed about 6 years ago. Being this car has never been used as a daily driver in all the years I have known this car (almost 20 years) the parts should still be in good shape. Driving the car it sounded fine, drove down the street straight. The steering gear box has been adjusted the best it could be. It feels a little loose and new owner might consider rebuilding it or buying a new replacement if he wishes for a much quicker feel. Again, it goes straight but it is 40 years old. Radio: After market radio set up for IPOD hook up and AMP with Pioneer speakers. Owners say stereo is AWESOME. (see Pics) · I have tried to represent this car as best as I can. The owner and I have loved AMCs for many years and I own three myself. We wish this car to go to another owner who loves these cars as much as we do. I promised I would represent this car as honestly and as completely as I could. I know I would not like to buy a car without knowing as much as I could know about the car. I have tried to put as much info about the car as I can. While car is not a concourse car it is a very nice driver car and can be enjoyed that way. Local cruise ins and car shows are not out of the question with this car. I can’t imagine someone not happy buying this car. If my personal financial situation was better at the moment I would without a doubt have purchased this from my friend. · If you are serious about buying this car I highly suggest you call me 608-931-3191 to ask questions and I tell you everything in know about the car.
