Start Slideshow Stop Slideshow Next Image Previous Image Direct descendant of the CJ-2A, the Universal Jeep CJ-3A was launched in the Fall of 1948. For the casual observer the 3A differed from the 2A only by its new one-piece windshield. But there were subtler differences: where Willys-Overland had moved the driver seat further back on the 2A, perhaps to accommodate husky farmers as well as thin GI's, they did it again with the 3A. The windshield was simplified with the wipers at the bottom, and made taller for more headroom. And the suspension was beefed up a bit, perhaps in answer to calls from the agricultural community who by now had a wide array of implements to choose from, designed to be mounted on and operated by a Jeep CJ. The lack of ads for the CJ-3A except in the farm journals, at the same time as Willys-Overland was lavishly advertising its trucks and station wagons in full-color ads in the mainstream press, would suggest the community to which the 3A was aimed. The dash-mounted info plates with their pictures of farm and industry side by side, also demonstrate the markets in which W-O was hoping for sales. This particular ’48 CJ3A has had thousands of dollars invested in it to make it what you see today. This jeep has been assembled and maintained by a master mechanic that is certified under 9 different automotive brands. He has used only the best parts while assembling this off road machine and has spent thousands of dollars doing so. Included with the Jeep is a 1965 M416 military trailer. This is an authentic military trailer but has had a tailgate cut into it. It wears the same, matching wheels and tires as the jeep that pulls it. The paint is overall good but is older and is showing its age from use. There are some custom pinstripes that are a great touch. The body is overall solid but does have its spots like most of these jeeps from the era. Around the seams there are some bubbles but nowhere is it rotted out. The black soft top is 2 years old and in great condition with on rips or tears. Mounted to the front is a WarnXD9000i winch that works with no problems. Both front and rear bumpers are solid with no damage. The front bumper also has two mounts to attach a tow bar for your RV. Inside, the seats are older but are in good condition with no rips or tears. There is no carpeting, just floor mats. The floors are solid with no holes. There has been a CB and a radio installed that both work with no problems as well as a handle on the passenger side dash so they can hold on while you’re tearing through the woods! All gauges are in good working order and include fuel, amps, oil pressure, water temperature and speedometer. Mounted under the dash there is a 3 speed heater that works and has been fully restored. Under the hood, you will find a 1965 283 Cu In power pack V8 that runs great. This is connected to a T90 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive for highway driving. The transfer case is a Dana 18 that has been completely rebuilt before it went into the Jeep. The brakes have been updated in the rear to a 11x2 and the fronts are discs from Wilwood. The master cylinder is also from Wilwood. All of the wheels match on the trailer and jeep along with the spare. They are wrapped with BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A’s that all have good tread life left on them. Other options include Dana 25 front axle, Dana 44 rear axle, drive shaft loop, axle torsion bars and a 130 amp that is mounted high on the engine. This jeep can be submerged in almost 4 feet of water before having any effect on it. The air cleaner on the passenger side can be removed and a snorkel can be installed. This jeep has more on it then we could possibly name. It’s been a love affair and a toy for years now but the seller is ready to move onto a new project. The VIN number is 211105 and the current mileage shows 13,599. The Jeep is being sold on a clean Missouri title but the trailer is being sold on a bill of sale only. This agreement to arbitrate shall survive the sale of the automobile described herein. Buyer and Seller hereby agree that Missouri law shall control for all purposes under this Bill of Sale. Buyer and Seller hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts of Missouri to specifically enforce the agreement to arbitrate and to enter judgment of and enforce the award of the arbitrator. Payment Terms Payment must be made by Cashiers Check, Money Orders or Wire Transfers payable in US Dollars. A Refundable deposit in the amount of $500.00 must be received within Twenty-Four(24)hours of the auctions close either by Master Card, Visa or PayPal. The buyer has seven(7) days from close of auction to inspect the vehicle. If the vehicle is not to your liking within this seven day inspection period then your deposit will be refunded 100%. If an inspection or decision takes longer then seven days and you find the vehicle not to your liking, your deposit will be forfeited and the car will be relisted. Final payment must be received within ten (10) days of the auction close. The refundable deposit only applies if you or an agent inspect said vehicle in St. Louis and find it not to your liking. I will not be responsible for buyers remorse or problems found to said vehicle once they have left my property. I am just being realistic, most of the cars I deal in are vintage and by their very nature will need TLC and some degree of attention sooner or later. These are not new cars and should not be treated as such. Once full payment has been received, Seller will fax a copy of clear title, Bill of sale, Buyers guide and additional DMV forms to the Buyer to sign and return via fax. The forms must be returned to the Seller prior to the shipment of said vehicle. Original paperwork will be sent to Buyer Via overnight mail seven(7)days from date of final payment. Transportation will commence only after final payment and signed documentation are received. Once a car is picked up from our premises, you will NOT be able to return the car.
