For sale is a rare 2002 (4dr) pt cruiser conv. burgandy red with black top. Chrysler did not make a real conv until 2005 but in 2002 they commisioned Newport conv in California to do 1000 conv and sold them to dealers across the country. I spoke to Newport recently because I own 2 of these cars and they told me that they only made as little as 45.They did not get enough orders and they sold for $33000 so not too many people wanted them.This car has a new Va insp a/c electric top cd player and is in good condition.The top is in fair condition and does leak a little around the windows but I have owned over 25 conv. in my life and have never seen one that didn't leak a little.It has 65000 miles and can be driven anywhere anytime but I would look at this as a collectors item and a fun spring and summer car and not a main car.My other one is in better shape with only 34000 miles but it sold on ebay a few years ago for over $14000. This one is worth at least half that. The only issue with this car is the top. The design was quite honestly not very good and although the top goes up and down fine(electric) it is not like a factory version. It can be done with one person but if you have help it is alot easier to line up. As I said before I would drive this car anywhere and you can certainly drive it home but if you are looking for an everyday car I don't think you would be happy with this car. UPDATE: Some kids hit the back plastic window today with a football and put a 6 inch crack in it. It can be taped but probably needs to be replaced. I dropped reserve $1000.
