Vehicle Detail
THIS IS A FACTORY RIGHT HAND DRIVE JEEP CHEROKEE FROM THE U.S. (NOT JAPAN). IT WAS MY WIFE'S WORK VEHICLE AND WAS USED FOR A RURAL CARRIER ROUTE. OVERALL THIS JEEP IS IN GOOD CONDITION. THE JEEP IS FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AND IT WORKS. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, POWER WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCKS. I PUT NEW TIRES ON IT. WE HAD THE VEHICLE COMPUTER REPLACED AT THE LOCAL CHYSLER DEALER DUE TO PREVIOUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT IN 2005 AT 123,203 MILES BY AAMCO TRANSMISSIONS. IT GOT A NEW RADIATOR IN 2006. THE JEEP RUNS WELL. I BELIEVE THE VEHICLE ORIGINALLY CAME FROM PENNSYLVANIA AND ACQUIRED SOME SURFACE RUST THERE (SEE PICTURES). IT HAS BEEN IN ARIZONA SINCE 2005 AND THE RUST DID NOT GET ANY WORSE. THE PAINT HAS MINOR SCRATCHES AND CHIPS. THERE ARE DINGS ON BOTH SIDES, THE FIBERGLASS TRIM ON THE FRONT RIGHT CORNER IS CHIPPED (SEE PICTURE). THE ONLY SEAT WITH WEAR IS THE DRIVER SEAT WHICH IS CRACKED (THE UPHOLSTERY IS A TEXTURED VINYL THAT LOOKS LIKE CLOTH). THE AIR CONDITIONING WORKS BUT HAS A REFRIDGERANT LEAK WE CAN NOT FIND (I KEEP THE COOLANT CHARGED IN THE SUMMER). MY WIFE WAS INVOLVED IN TWO MINOR COLLISIONS WHICH RESULTED IN THE CRACKED FIBERGLASS MENTIONED ABOVE AND A TRIM PIECE ON THE FRONT BUMPER WHICH I REPLACED. THERE IS NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. THE POWER LOCKS FOR THE RIGHT SIDE DON'T WANT TO LOCK BUT THEY WILL UNLOCK. THE DISPLAY ON THE RADIO IS ON THE FRITZ (IT BLINKS). OVERALL IT IS A GOOD JEEP AND IS DEFINITELY A GOOD WORK VEHICLE. CONSIDERING THE COSMETIC ISSUES LISTED IT IS VERY CLEAN. ANSWERS TO SOME OF THE QUESTIONS I HAVE RECEIVED. Q. Does this have any mechanical problems or electrical that you know of? Does it consume or leak any fluids other than what has been stated. Does it handle normally? What are the condition of the tires? Is it capable to drive long distance? I am interested. A. Thank you for the interest. The only mechanical and electrical problems are those I have described in the listing. It does have a very minor oil leak (about 10 drops on the garage floor after three months) but does not burn oil. The engine is sound. It handles normally, no alignment pull or anything. The tires are brand new. I put them on a few months back but the Jeep has been garaged so they have no mileage on them. I can not think of any mechanical reason why it could not be driven a long distance. Q. How is the head liner? Does it use any oil? what kind of route was it used for, how many miles? Can you lock the front right side and do all the windows work? A. The headliner is good. It does not burn any oil however it does have a minor oil leak (approximately 10 drops on the garage floor over the last three months). This is my wife's Jeep and was used on a rural carrier route for a Mesa, AZ USPS Office. Not very rural but still considered a Rural Route. The mileage driven daily depended very much on which route she was assigned to. The mileage we have driven since ownership would be the difference between the current mileage and the mileage I listed for rebuild of the transmission. We had to have the transmission rebuilt as soon as we received the vehicle from the previous owner. The doors can still be locked manually. I actually think the locking mechanism on the doors just needs to be lubed but I didn't want to remove the door panels. I can hear the power locks in those two doors trying to work. All the power windows work. When we received the vehicle, the left front window did not work but we had it repaired. I hope this helps. Q. Hi, I was wondering what would you take for the jeep? Can the jeep make a long road trip back if u pick it up? Does the 4x4 work great? Why are you selling the jeep? A. Thank you for your interest. Reference the amount we are willing to take, we decided to run a traditional auction on Ebay and will take the closing bid amount. I don't know of any mechanical issues that prevent driving the jeep a long distance but I would recommend getting a quote for shipping before deciding to drive it very far. Shipping is actually fairly reasonable when you consider your own travel costs and fuel and possibly time off work. The four wheel drive works well. I have driven the jeep off road in the Superstition Mountains and it performed beautifully. (That was with a previous set of tires.) The reason we are selling the Jeep is that my wife no longer needs it, she now uses one of the USPS owned vehicles for her routes.
