Vehicle Detail

Beautifully preserved 71 Porsche 911T Targa. 62,000 orig miles. Racaro Racing seats, Excellent Targa top plus extra rain top. It has never been used for everyday transportation and has been garaged always. Original paint in showroom condition. Interior flawless. On Feb-25-11 at 09:17:02 PST, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE THESE REVISIONS Original paint code is 1810-L indicating blue. (see answer to question below). Also, note that the engine had been replaced. See note below. When I purchased the Porsche the color (Yellow) matched the one my wife had when we met. (I surprised her with this after 30 yrs of marriage) The paint was excellent with no indications it had been repainted until you advised me of the paint code indicating Blue. So, it must have been painted years ago. But the paint job is so excellent that its dificult to tell. Also, the engine number is 6531033. I was told that the original engine (I think 2.2L) was stolen early in its life and replaced the present one which I think is a 2.4. Perhaps the eng number (6531033) will designate the size, etc. Again, the seats are Racaro racing seats, the eng gages are yellow. On Feb-26-11 at 10:12:18 PST, seller added the following information: I want to add any discrepancies with the Porsche that I can think of: The rubber strip seal that the rear of the Targa top fits onto should be replaced. The two little black grills by the forward running lights could ue some touch up paint. We added an alarm system that has been turned off for years...not sure if it still works..but probably can be turned back on. When we pull it back into the garage after driving it there are always some drips of oil that cause us to put a piece of carpet down to protect the garage floor. There are not a lot of drips. I've never counted them but other Porsche owners tell me it's normal. I also want to add that I am not experienced at selling a car on ebay. I've only bought a few things here. So, you'll have to bear with me if I am unable to answer many questions. I've been asked why we are selling it. I am a retired airline pilot married to a former flight attendant. As I mentioned before she had an identical one 36 yrs ago. We just don't drive it any more and could use the extra space in the garage (especially to work on my new Honda Goldwing). Thanks for the bidding. Good luck.On Feb-26-11 at 16:24:51 PST, seller added the following information: Another discrepancy: The trunk lid does not stay up. Apparently needs a new "plunger" apparatus to hold it up.
