Vehicle Detail

1953 Packard Clipper for sale by owner. Car has 288 c.i. straight 8 engine, automatic transmission, Power brakes, AM radio. 79,500 miles on vehicle. Clear, Box A Arizona title. Originally a Texas car, it is very solid and is a very nice driver. Interior and paint were redone in 1990 by previous owner in Texas. Interior is very nice, paint is starting to show its age. Previous owner completed most of conversion to 12-volt system. Windshield wipers are not hooked up, but an electric wiper motor is in place ready to be hooked up. Car starts rapidly and runs smoothly. Recently replaced all 4 wheel cylinders and rear shoes. Carburetor rebuilt 2 years ago. This is a nice example of an early 50s luxury car and in in great driver condition.       This is an antique car; and as such is not provided with a warranty. It is sold as-is, where-is. Local inspection is recommended and welcomed. I have driven this car around town but have not taken it on a highway trip. Therefore, I don't know if you can fly out and drive it home or not. I recommend the use of a shipping company. I will gladly drive the car to a local shipping company outlet, but all shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.      I welcome any and all questions about the car. There is a local chapter of Packards International and their members will be able to inspect the car for you if you would like. This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally. Good luck and thank you for bidding! On Feb-26-11 at 20:39:54 PST, seller added the following information: Please note that I have lowered the reserve price. I don't know why the notice stating that the reserve price had been lowered did not appear on the listing when I lowered it last night. Thank you for your interest!
