Vehicle Detail

Hello and thank you for looking at my Jeep Cherokee. This is a really nice and clean 1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4x4 with 134,xxx miles. The Jeep has averaged right around 10,000 miles per year. That's fairly low considering most average drivers put 15,000-18,000 miles per year on a vehicle. I bought this Jeep in 2007 and have been very happy with it. It’s my daily driver. The Jeep starts up every time, runs solid, temp, oil , volts gauges are always steady and to factory ranges. These Jeeps were build solid and to be virtually problem free. It has held true for me! As you can see, the Jeep is not a “stock” Cherokee. I put a 3.5 inch lift and 32 inch BFGoodrich All Terrain tires. My goal was to keep the daily driver manners on the road as well as make it a very capable off road Jeep. I accomplished it very nicely. The Jeep tracks down the road straight and it rides as good as a stock Jeep. On the open trails or on the rocks, it does great. Had it out a few times last year and it was very impressive. I put parts into it where it counts and kept the rest stock. See below for the details on what I put on the Jeep. Specifications: Axles Front: High Pinion Dana 30 with 4.56 gears, axle Seals, diff guard Rear: 8.25 with 4.56 gears and HD diff guard, rear disc brakes Off Road Protection “Belly” skid plate to protect transfer case and cross member Control arm skid plates Differential guards front and rear Transfer case Slip Yolk Eliminator Tires 32x11.5x15 BFGoodrich All terrains – Bought in April of 2010 and probably have 5,000 miles on them AT THE MOST. Full size spare tire Additional Goodies Transmission Oil Cooler and AutoMeter gauge installed in gauge pod Front Tow Hooks Rear tow point – not for towing a trailer – just for getting you out of a tight spot..haha Overhead Console (Temp, Compass, MPG, Trip Time) Rubicon Express HEAVY DUTY front Track Bar Rocker Protectors from AJ’s off-road **Many new parts on it as well: Exhaust (Exhaust manifold, muffler, tailpipe), water pump, radiator, wires, plugs, rear brakes/rotors..and so on. Mechanically This Jeep was my daily driver, I purchased it almost 3 1/2 years ago and it has been a great vehicle. The only reason it's up for sale is because I purchased a vehicle with a little better gas mileage. I have a 300 mile/day commute. I’m sure you aren’t buying the jeep for its superior gas mileage numbers..haha..But for a 6 cyl, it still gets around 18 MPG.. I drove it every day and never had a single problem with it and my plan was to keep this Jeep as my weekend off road “toy”. The transmission shifts very smooth through all the gears with no issues, it doesn't clunk or shift in to gear hard. Jeep has had the 4.0L inline 6 engine around for nearly 20 years. They put them in all the Jeep Wranglers with the 6 cylinder option as well as the Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. It's a proven drive train system and will last a very long time with normal oil changes. Gears The Jeep had new gears installed about 6 months ago. I decided to go with 4.56 gear ration to give it some nice torque off road but still run down the highway nicely. Accorind to my gear install guy, he always sets up the rear gears "with a tight" pinion bearing preload so that way, when the pinion bearings "break in", they will be within the specific load settings. I am mentioning this because when you are driving down the highway, when you hit 75, you hear a slight humming from the rear. I have put over 3,000 miles on this gearset without issues. As the pinion bearings break in, the humming has reduced over time, just as my gear guy said. I have driven this to down I-95 at highway speed since I had the gears installed and have not had one issue at all. Gears were also properly broken in with the oil changed at the 500 mille point. Electrical The AC and heat works great, power windows work on all 4 sides but from time to time, you have to reset the window lock out button so passengers in the vehicle can roll down their windows but the driver controls all work and will roll down all 4 windows, power door locks work and the heated power mirrors work and so does the radio/CD player. The Jeep also has fog lights as well. Exterior A clean Jeep is a happy Jeep. I washed is regularly and cleaned the interior as well. The over all paint condition is in good shape. NO RUST. It’s a 13 year old vehicle that has been to a few off road parks so you have to expect some scratches and blemishes. But the overall paint and look is nice. It washes and waxes up real nice. The front bumper on the drivers side has a dent from a rock I “didn’t see” while I was off roading but look at the picture..It’s not really visible. I can’t tell you that the paint is “Flawless” and there are absolutely no slight chips or scratches and I can’t take a picture of every single scratch but believe me, I took very good care of my Jeep and it has the “normal” wear and tear paint job for a 13 year old vehicle. Rear bumper has normal bumper scratches as well. Interior The seats and carpet are clean. The driver seat does not have any abnormal wear on, neither do any of the other seats. In the cargo area, you can see in the picture there is a stain in the back. It’s a cargo area so I carried stuff in it so it got a little dirty. Passenger compartment is nice and clean. No tears in the seats, headliner is not sagging, dashboard is clean, no cracks, overhead console fully functional. To sum it up, you’re getting a nice and clean 1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4x4 that is in great condition. It would make someone a great daily driver, weekend off-road Jeep or family vehicle.
