I TRIED TO BE AS DETAILED AND HONEST AS POSSIBLE, PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BIDDING!!! Up for sale is an AMAZING 1965 Cadillac Calais! There are tons of pictures that accurately convey what incredible condition this car is in for its age. I wish I could keep it but I lack the resources to fix it up; the restoration center either wants me to pay for the restoration or take it somewhere else, so I'm selling it. Unfortunately I do not have the money to have it restored properly, and I would like to see it go to someone who does. SEE A VIDEO HERE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WgWydKMuI0 The pictures show the great condition it is in for its age. The odometer reads 50,898, which I believe to be accurate miles. The interior is amazing and all original. The driver's seat is very worn (springs are visible) but it is still comfortable, and the other seats are firm and in great shape. The headliner is immaculate except for a small 1.5" tear, easily repaired, and the carpet is immaculate but sun-faded (it looks new under the rubber floor mats). The dash has cracked in the sun but otherwise is great with clean and shiny dials and instruments. The back window, both inside and out, has issues with damage to the lining; the window-chrome is missing on the other side, but all the other chrome on the vehicle is in great shape. The back-dash where the speakers were put in is damaged and worn in the sun. The exterior is also in great condition. It is nowhere near show quality, but there are no apparent dents, scrapes or dings. The wear is exclusively from the sun. The car has very minimal rust, but there are several bubbles around some seams, as shown in the pictures, and some larger bits of flaking paint around one wheel panel, also shown. The glass is all in great shape. I have all the Cadillac hubcaps. I have the ignition key but not the key to the trunk. I have no idea what is in the trunk so you might find something great! The car is not perfect, however. The repair shop discovered a fuel leak when they were investigating a knocking in the engine. The fuel line will need to be replaced, and while the engine does crank the source of the noise was not discovered, so the engine will need to be serviced before it can be driven, and may need to be completely rebuilt. This can be an expensive thing to fix so make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. THE ENGINE WILL RUN BUT BECAUSE THE FUEL LINE HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED THE ENGINE CANNOT BE CRANKED TO TEST IT. I know this is unfortunate but you'll just have to believe me when I say that the engine runs and is not seized. The car has a compressor, which leads me to believe it has air conditioning. I have not tested it. The car has all power windows and power locks on the two front doors (and maybe two back, not sure), and the seat is also adjustable. This car could be an awesome ride, it is positively massive and is in amazing condition. It will, however, take substantial work to transform it into a stylish daily driver. NO WARRANTY.
