Well, many argued both ways when the Aztek made its debut on the automotive scene but one thing can’t be argued is its versatility. Purchasing this 2004 Aztek will have you in an AWD SUV for the winter weather with a ton of options and a rugged, dependable drivetrain for around $5k. That’s a hard niche to fill but we’ve done it with this 2 owner Pontiac. The gold exterior is in good accident-free condition with only minor scratches and a couple dents throughout. The paint holds a very nice shine and one would not guess it had 122k on the clock. The lamps and lenses all the way around are clear with no breaking or marring which adds to the appeal of this Aztek. Is she perfect? No, BUT one would have a hard time believing you only gave the price you paid. The interior is very clean throughout with no rips, tears or premature wear and is reminiscent of a 60k mile vehicle rather than one with twice that. I don’t mind bragging on the cleanliness at all here. This Aztek is loaded with Power windows, locks, CD Player, etc, etc and even comes with the original owners manual. All it needs is a good set of floor mats to even things out but hey, we'll throw those in for the new owner. The drivetrain defines the word “reliable”. The 3400 V6 engine has been around for years and returns good fuel economy as well. There is no smoking to speak of and it runs like a top. The transmission appears equally as strong. Oh, and btw…did I mention it is equipped with VersaTrak AWD? I think so but I felt the need to reinterate. The 215/70/16 radials have about 15% treadlife remaining but I might be estimating on the low end here. I figure best for the new owner that I estimate in that direction. Regardless, they will need replacement by mid-Spring if one plans on doing a lot of driving. The 16” factory alloy wheels are quite nice with only hints of curbing/road rash throughout.
