Vehicle Detail

Another nice find here at THE AUTO HOUSE!! The vehicle can be inspected at 6655 Brentwood Blvd. Brentwood, Northern CA, 94513. If you have anymore questions, please email me. I represent what I know as see!! 1957 VW Bug- 6 volt- matching vin- engine number is H 5842028 The bug runs and drives fine- The miles are unknown. The car has been sitting on a non operational status for the past 7 years. The previous owner was restoring the vehicle and I am not sure what happened as I acquired the vehicle from a charitable source. The mechanic I use replaced the master cylinder, fuel filter, changed the oil and it runs down the road. Mechanically- the car runs fine but I could not tell you the size of the engine, probably a 1200 or 1300. The transmission shifts fine in all gears. The speedo and wipers work but the horn does not. The lights and blinkers turn on then not--probably there is a gound that needs to be cleaned which is typical of the 6 volt bugs. Interior- the rugs, floors, seats and door panels have been redone. The headliner is ok with the exception of spots below the rear windows. There is discoloration due to moisture or water leaks at the window seals at some point in time--There are no leaks now as I have had the car outside in the rain for the past month and the car is dry. All the glass is good. The dash is not modified-the glove box is present-there has not been a radio cut in-the ashtray is there-the speedometer works. Exterior- is has been repainted of course. The rear deck lid is orignial but the fenders and hood appear not to be. There are a couple of dings which I pictured, but overall it is in pretty nice shape. A moulding piece is missing on the hood and the mirrors are gone. I have pictured some parts that I have including wing windows, trim pieces, mouldings, emblems, misc nuts, etc. Underneath- the pans look fine and I didn't see any rust corrosion to speak of. The rear axle boots are leaking and should be replaced. The truck has the spare tire and jack. Overall, this is a nice classic bug with a little tlc needed. The vehicle is sold as is where is with no implied warranty of anykind. CA residents must pay CA sales tax and a registration fee of $98 if you want current registration. Out of state and country buyers welcome.
