Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is an un-hurt, low mileage, rust free, diesel Volkswagen. Let me start out by saying that this is the fifth non-TDI VW that I have owned and by far the best driving and most reliable one that I have had. Over the course of 30 years or so usually these cars fall in the wrong hands and have the snot ran out of them. Not this one! I have brought a few "back from the dead" and it is not something you want to do. Not only the money that it requires to do so but also the time and headaches that come along with it. This car has 78,348 original miles and it shows. It is has never had any rust repair and it completely rust free, inlcluding the undercarriage. Being 30 years old it is not perfect but is as close to perfect as you will find without a restoration. Everything on the car is original including the Kraco 8 track player! The LS model comes factory equipped with air conditioning and a moonroof. The interior the Rabbit you will find to be in great shape with zero stains. The driver and passenger seats still have great support and are not worn out. The headliner is starting to sag a bit. The vehicle has been properly maintained throughout its entire life. All of the common maintenance items that these cars require have been completed for you. New Parts Include: - New head (not remanufactured) including cam shaft and valves - Water pump - Strut mounts - Rear shocks - Tie rod - Tie rod ends - Thermostat - Rebuilt injectors - Rebuilt injection pump - Four new tires - Brake booster It also has fresh synthetic oil in the engine along with fresh gear lube in the transmission. When the head was replaced I also powdercoated the intake and exhaust manifolds. The car does need a new hood release cable http://www.partsplaceinc.com/products/product-detail.aspx?sku=17213 which is $12.95. The hood is easy to open which is the only reason I have not replaced it. This is a "turn key" car not like all of the projects you see out there. I would not hesitate traveling the country in this vehicle, getting 50 mpg all the way. If you would like to see any specific pictures please let me know and I will get them to you as soon as possible. I will accomodate anyone who would like to fly in and drive the Rabbit home. I am close to Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Detroit. I have sold two VW diesels on eBay. One was a Dasher wagon which the buyer flew in from West Virginia to Michgan and drove it home with no issues. The other was a Rabbit that I had in Arizona which the buyer flew from Michigan to Arizona and drove it back to Michigan with zero issues. Please check my feedback. Any bidders with less than 5 feedback please contact me before bidding. A $200 deposit is due within 24 hours from the close of the auction via Paypal. The remaining balance is due within 7 days unless prior arangements have been made. The pictures of the engine compartment show the rust proofing around the shock towers and it almost looks like rust. Let me assure you there is ZERO rust on this car. On Feb-07-11 at 06:54:18 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that when the above repairs were made the timing belt was also replaced. I drove the car for approximately 600 miles after everything was finished to assure drivability. On Feb-07-11 at 21:55:55 PST, seller added the following information: The car is also equipped with a factory block heater. Cold starts are no problem down to 15 degrees without it though it is best to use it to make it less stressfull on the engine when temperatures are near freezing.
