Vehicle Detail
Wow! A rare find: 1968 Mustang GT/CS "X" Code 390 cu.in. This is a one owner car!!!! A California, original black license plate, local, rust free, ultra rare, investment grade Mustang. A Google search shows that only around 76 California Specials were built with the 390 engine. We do have the Marty report that verifies that this car was built with the options that are on the car, and in over 43 years nothing has been added or taken away. This car still has its original title printed up in 1968 and lien-relased stamped on the back by the bank/dealership in 1971 when it was paid off. The car also has its original owners manual showing that the car was purchased at Gastel Ford in Modesto, CA (it still has the original Gastel license plate frame on the back plate and also is the same new car dealership that the Marty report shows it was ordered by/delivered to) on August 16, 1968. The car comes with its original California registration from 1968 among many more for the following years. The car also has its original protect-o plate and two original 'ownercard' plastic warranty cards! How many of these 76 or so cars with this type of history are left, and with these options......it's probably the only one left. The car is in great condition, rust free with no evidence of any accidents. The engine fires up easily and runs great, no smoke or leaks. The C6 trans shifts well, and the car brakes well, it says FoMoCo on the brake drums. **The car has been parked in indoor storage for the past ten years or so. The lights work, inside and out, including the Lucas fog lights and back up lights. All the California Special/Shelby parts look to be original. The car was ordered with steel wheels (they have 'Ford' stamped on them), and deluxe hubcaps. The speedo/odo/gas/volt/oil pressure gauge all work. It has an old school am/fm eight track stereo, the radio still works (don't have any eight track tapes, but I'm confident that it works!) The car still has its original Trico metal wiper arms and all the glass on the car has the original CarLite logo on it. The body is nice, Acapulco blue, white vinyl top, like new interior, cosmetically the car is really really nice, the trim looks original and has normal dings/scratches/wear...probably not show as it stands, but definately a car that you could be proud of. Coming across a car like this is not just like finding a needle in a haystack, its like trying to find a needle in a mountain of hay! I don't recommend waiting for the next one like this to come along....who knows? ***NOTE: zero feedback eBayers, contact us with a valid/verifiable phone # or your bid will be cancelled, no exceptions.
