1968 Chevrolet El Camino SS 396 Numbers Matching! Fresh Frame Off Restoration Origional Butternut Yellow Only 38,000 orig Miles This Chevy El Camino SS. 396 Factory air car is more than a superb example of Chevrolet's original muscle truck. The original matching-numbers 396 325 HP engine, automatic transmission and rear axle are backed up by the original Id plate decoding the car, Protect-O-Plate, warranty booklet and owner's manual. Nj title reflects 38,000 orig miles. This car has been restored with origional date coded parts and every effort was made to keep the car origional, even the carburetor and headers. Detailed undercarriage with origional factory stickers on frame, brakes, rear, shocks etc. Fully documented restoration with pictures and receipts. Motor, Trans, Rear were completly rebuilt and yes I have the receipts. Almost 500+ hours of labor made the body blown-glass-smooth for the quality repaint in Origional Butternut Yellow and black decal stripes. Nos Rear quarters were installed new door skins, fenders and hood. The front suspension, weatherstripping, and metal trim have been refurbished. All new brakes with every line being replaced with Stainless steel lines. Every peice of glass was replaced and etched to match the origional glass! Origional Hub caps with new f70 Firestone Redline tires (still have stickers on them ). Complete new wiring harness with diagram. All lights work. Interior is all new and looks great. Factory tac and clock are working. Pefect dash. Origional spare is located behind passenger seat. Origional am radio still needs to be connected. Also the AC compresor is not currently on the car but is included. Please understand every part has been rebuilt or replaced on the car, even the power steering pump, wiper motor etc are detailed to show quality! All new exhaust replaced to factory specs clamped not welded like when it came from the factory. All new chrome and NOS bed moldings installed. The rear bed is in amazing condition. New Vinyl Roof. Consequently, this piece of automotive history runs great, and looks fantastic. The only items that may need attention are as follows: Install the factory Ac this is included but not restored, hookup radio, Install Interior dome lense and maybe adjust the door strikers to be perfect. This car has had no roadtime since restoration. I would have the front end aligned. Little Known Fact: 1968 is the last year of the factory Super Sport.
