This is 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit diesel originally bought and also driven for 30 years in California. I am the third owner. I had this car for the last 8 years and took very good care of it. Over the years I improved many things that were missing or broken and also did a total engine rebuild with oversize pistons. There is no smoke at all and the engine starts right up. Never had any problems with it. The transmission is 5 gears manual and it shifts very smooth. All fluids are new. Brakes are also new. The tires are Michelin with at least 10 k miles left on them. The car does not have AC. I did the upholstery 3 years ago and it is spotless. Also installed a new floor carpet. This is a classic car and you must be passionate about it. The paint is 3 years old and it has some small scratches on it. New windshield, headlights, rear lights, front grille, injectors, glow plugs, pistons, valve guides, bearings, clutch assembly, clutch cable, water pump, thermostat, fuel injection pump rebuilt, head gasket, valve cover gasket, all engine and transmission gaskets are also new and new sunroof gasket (very expensive and only dealer had it). There is no leak of anything anywhere. The new rebuilt engine has only 16k miles on it and it is barely broken in. The back window defrost does not work. No shipping, only local pick up.
