I am offering a beautiful1973 Mercedes 450 SL. This car has been well maintained in dry Southern California, where it has been since 1973.This super desirable 450 SL roadsters only has 181,000 actual miles. Pampered and cared for its entire life. 1972-1973 were the first years for the totally redesigned SL model that Mercedes offered, which became the most popular and sought after SL ever made. It was so popular that they used this body style all the way up to 1989.It now came standard with the durable fuel injected 4.5 liter V-8.This classic beauty came with all power goodies including factory air conditioning.1972-1973 were the only SLs that came standard with the classic small front and rear bumpers and matching color keyed hubcaps. The first made years are extremely desirable and becoming extremely hard to find in very nice condition. It makes this truly a collectible sports car for any Mercedes collector or enthusiast. You get thumbs up wherever you go. The red paint is nice but isn’t perfect. The paint still has good luster but has some bubbles. The car has original body panels and all numbers match on the car. The car is completely rust and accident free. The two front black tex seats are new. The car has the rare back seat option. The door panels are in good condition. The speckled carpets are nice but not new .The dash pad was replaced and is in very good condition. The sun visors are the original ones. The car comes with both tops. The car has a beautiful brand new German dark black canvas soft-top with crystal back windows. There is a scuff mark on the top near the trunk from being hit with a buffer. The hardtop is very nice and totally original with the lines still in the back glass. The original trunk is in ok shape with the correct rubber mat, spare tire, and tool kit. The engine compartment is original and needs detailing. All the trim, aluminum, and chrome on the car are complete. The car runs, drives, and operates extremely well, but the engine smokes when you first start it up. The car drives down the highway wonderfully.
