CAR IN A NUT-SHELL 1930 MODEL A COUPE+++OUTSTANDING PAINT+++CRYSTAL CLEAR GLASS INTERIOR LOOKS NEW EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK+++GLEAMING CHROME RUNS, DRIVES, STOPS GREAT and THINGS WORK VIN 4017032 : HISTORY: This Model A was owned and restored by a retired contractor that I go to church with. He did it about 6 years ago and did a great job. He had always dreamed of a 1957 Chevrolet with a continental kit. I bought a very nice one with modern upgrades, he loved it so I traded it to him for his 2 Model A Fords. TITLE: Clear Tennessee title in hand. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? No real rust problems, no rusty holes and the underside has no rust issues in the frame or floors. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a classic car restorer, but when I find a vehicle I like and can sell for a fair market price, I buy it fix a few things and resell. PAINT: Very nice quality paint, it is black fenders an a taupe body. It looks very nice, the car is straight to look down the sides, no rust bubbles, no dents, no dings, no runs, no dry spots, it has a brilliant shine. CHROME: Super nice chrome, no rust, no dulling and it is straight. INTEROR: All redone and nice. No wear, no holes, no smoke smell and it is clean, the trunk has no rumble seat, it is painted neatly and has a cut pieace of carpet on the bottom. UNSERSIDE: No rust problems and clean. GLASS: Clear with no milky sports, no bubbles and no cracks. SOUND SYSTEM: Roll the window down and hear the engine purr. AIR CONDITIONING: Roll the windshield out and let the wind hit you in the face. ENGINE: It’s a 4 cylinder flathead that runs sounds good, it has no unwanted rattles, no blue smoke, its a Model A and will leave a few drops of oil on the floor. In the old days with gravel roads and dirt on the floor this was not a big deal “they all do it”. It starts up great, but is very cold natured, the carb mixture screw is on adjusted on the carb/not on the choke rod (if I keep the car for ever I would invest into a new carb, its hard to get old worn carbs right). EXHAUST SYSTEM: Good condition. TRANSMISSION: 3 speed manual that shifts as it should, these did not have a synchronized 1 gear. REAR-END: Original and is in good condition. BRAKES: Mechanical brakes, “no juice, no hydraulics”. These stop good, but you have to apply your foot. STEERING: The steering linkage is good, the car drives very good, but you have to really turn the steering wheel jsut as they did in 1930. WHEELS AND TIRES : The tires are plenty good for parades and short trips, the tread is very good, but I see some signs of aging, under a very close inspection I can see some fine weather checking. "If I keep the car for ever I would buy 5 new tires with wide white-walls, this would make a beautiful car even better". LIGHTS and wiring: The head lights work, the tail lights work, the cowl lights do not work.! HORN WORKS! SPEEPOMETER DOES NOT WORK but the cable is in place. HOW FAST WILL THE CAR GO! It will go faster, but a good cursing speed is about 40 MPH. . GUAGES: They work. HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? I think they open and close good! Model A Ford doors are made to hang over in the back, this is the way they came from the Henry Ford. DEFECTS AND PROBLEMS and why I don't fix them: 1. Speedometer does not work. 2. a few very minor weather checks in tires. 3. Cold natured. 4. Cowl lights do not work. I did not fix thes problem for 3 reasons 1. You cant drive the car and enjoy it as is 2. If I fix them I add the price of the repairs to the price. 3. This is the main reason, I just don't have the time, I have too many things going. TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just too hard! The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the vehicle, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information. CONTACT INFO: my cell telephone number is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com PAPERWORK: I know what to do! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my garage in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of Knoxville and 50 miles north of Chattanooga. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee “I am truly qualified to be called a Hill Billy”. I am 64 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 38. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American. I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 42 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! TRANSPORT: EBAY MOTORS gives 3 instant transport quotes if you click on the link on my listing. US TRANSPORT: “No problem”, I can recommend a very large company, McNutt Auto Transport Service 800-755-2324. “Open carrier only”. ”They are located in Missouri”. US OR EXPORT “the best”: Classic Car Transport, LLC: This is a very good company that will handle any type of transport in the US or overseas with the white glove treatment. They are located in Kansas City. Call Steve at 913-749-0948 Email stevens@classiccartransport.com MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40, so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had certified check. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire transfer. And its safe for both of us. Option 4: Pay Pal is good, but it cost a lot. It cost me around 3%, I will take it, but you will have to add 3% to the price. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 64 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but most of them do not impress me at all, most really don’t know what to look at, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first! BOTTOM LINE: My firm price is $13,450 and I will be asking more at the big car shows. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down. PLEASE!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Please don’t hit the Buy Now button unless your ready to really buy it! Do your research, call me with questions, read my feed backs, I am ebay verified; this means they say I’m a real person in a real place. I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE. Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info. Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com about > scams/ Recognizing scams/ You can sidestep would-be scammers by following these common-sense rules: IF A DEAL SOUND TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBLABLY IS A SCAM! FAKE CASHIER CHECKS & MONEY ORDERS ARE COMMON, BANKS WILL CASH THEM AND HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE when the fake is discovered weeks later. NEVER GIVE OUT FINANCIAL INFORMATION (bank account number, social security number, eBay/PayPal info, etc.) AVOID DEALS INVOLVING SHIPPING OR ESCROW SERVICES and know that ONLY A SCAMMER WILL "GUARANTEE" YOUR TRANSACTION. DON’T BELIEVE: Stories like divorcees of departing servicemen needing to sell quickly at a low price are generally fraudulent. Sellers only want to deal by email and will not talk to you “they usually can’t speck English”. Inability or refusal to meet face-to-face before consummating a transaction. IS THERE A WARRANTY? No! Come inspect, judge and drive the vehicle all you want to because I do not offer a warranty on classic vehicles. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type, they are the way I see the vehicle. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected this vehicle and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to purchase based upon that judgment solely. This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith.
