Vehicle Detail

This truck is a 1961 pickup. I got it on a trade about 3 years ago and thought I could fix it up and restore it. I had decided to go to law school shortly after I acquired the truck and did not have the time, nor the money, to invest in a truck restoration project. I did, however, do some work to the truck such as replacing the linkage in the gear shifter because the old one had pretty much served its time and purpose. The truck has some rust in the bed and in the floor boards but I don't think it is to a degree beyond repair. There is also a dent in the hood and some rust around the area where the dent is located. Also, there is a dent on the top of the truck along with some rust. These are all in the pictures on the sales page. The truck body would need to be fixed properly and painted to be in pristine condition. As far as the actual mechanics of the truck, it runs great and the transmition seems to be fine, as well. I do not proclaim to be an old truck expert because this is the first vehicle I have ever owned that was pre 1990s. The previous owner of the truck converted the 3 speed on the columns shifter to a 3 speed on the floor with a standard shifter. The truck is being sold because I realize now that I will probably never restore the truck to its original condition; therefore, I have no use for the truck. I am placing this truck on an auction to see how much the truck will bring to someone who may have been looking for a truck like this. I believe the truck is in exceptional running condition for something as old as it is. The truck will be perfect to someone who wants a project and has a love for old trucks. I know when I first saw it and heard the engine I fell in love with it. Previous to this time I had never even wanted to drive an older model truck. There is something about the way Ford made trucks before the late 70s that just seems "All-American". If you have any questions feel free to email me and I will get back with you as soon as I can. As I said, I am a law student so I am extremely busy and cannot reply when I am in class. I will reply to your emails and any questions I get between classes and during what little free time I do have. Keep in mind that this truck is for sale as is and no warrantees or guarantees accompany the purchase of this vehicle. Also, the buyer will need to pick up the truck. I live in Knoxville, TN, but the truck is at my parent’s home in Calhoun, TN. Calhoun (where the truck is located) is approximately an hour southwest of Knoxville and I will not be able to deliver the truck. If the buyer wishes to have the truck shipped to their residence then the buyer will be responsible for organizing the transaction, pick up, transportation and drop off of the vehicle. I hope to hear from buyers soon and would love to answer any questions that I know the answer to. As I said, I don’t know an incredible amount about trucks but would love to entertain any questions or concerns anyone may have. Thanks and good luck on bidding. On Jan-21-11 at 21:52:44 PST, seller added the following information: ATTENTION ALL BIDDERS____after i posted this item i realized i had accidentally typed the wrong milage into the field. The mileage is actually a little over 45,000.. so close to 46,000 miles. The current bid is at 610 dollars. Please keep in mind that the mileage is incorrect. It is actually a little over 45,000. I found this out when i looked at the picture of the odometer and realized i had put the incorrect mileage. On Jan-22-11 at 23:03:18 PST, seller added the following information: THis is a Ford, as if it were not obvious by the pics. When i posted this, I must have clicked fiat instead of Ford for the make. The fiat make is listed directly above Ford because the are listed alphabetically. Im sure if you bid on this truck you already knew this fact because it is clearly listed as a ford in the item description and title. THis was brought to my attention and I cant beleive I listed this incorrectly. I know I would have way more bids had I not messed up, so I considered canceling the auction and starting over. I then I decided to continue the auction because that would not be fair to the people who have already bid on the truck and really want it. I am just going to continue but this mistake has caused me to miss a lot of viewers. I am sorry for the confusion. This item is a Ford. Good luck everyone, enjoy!
