This Item is being relisted because it did not reach the reserve. The reserve and "Buy it Now" have both been lowered, enjoy bidding. I am selling a 1974 Landcruiser FJ40. I have owned it for 6 years and I purchased it from the original owners wife. She took the car as part of a divorce settlement, or so I was told. It is in great condition for it's age, it runs well and is registered, insured and currently on the road. I used it as a daily driver for must of the summer, without issues (except the honks and waving I keep getting). It was customized by the original owner back in the 70's, so it has some very neat old style mag wheels, full roll cage, painted fender flairs. It is lifted @ 3 inches using a spring lift, and it is running some very meaty 33 x 12.5 x 15 tires. It is all very original, it looks like a Tonka truck from the 70's. When I bought it the Previous Owner had a gas station monkey work on it, He ran it with a main seal leak and it spun the bearings in the bottom end. I had the motor pulled. I replaced it with a stock f-motor with a production date of 9/73. The original motor was 11/73. This means both motors are late f motors which have the improved oiling of the 2F motor. I saw the truck the new motor came out of and verified the motor and vin #, and mileage. The new motor was checked for compression before being installed and the rear main seal replaced. When the motor was installed a new clutch was also installed. The gas tank was removed and drained and cleaned out (it did not need resealing). The transmission was drained and flushed, as was the transfer case and the front and rear end. The carb was rebuilt by Cool Cruisers of Texas. The distributor was tuned up and the coil was replaced. The truck was cleaned out and waxed inside and out, then it sat for a while and not used for @ 2 +years. It was put on the road two years ago and was being driven about once a week. This summer I had some issues with a work truck and needed to use the LC on a daily basis. To get better photos for the relist, I untarped, started it (after three months it started in no time, no jump or starter fluid), and drove it through 1 plus feet of snow in 2wd to driveway to get to driveway, the truck runs like a top. The downside, the original soft-top is still there and all original but the original thread was cotton of some type and over the years had rotted away entirely. So during one of my drives this summer the top literally fell to pieces. All the pieces are there but they are disassembled. I took it to an upholstery shop who suggested I restitch myself, I bought nylon reinforced thread from him but I have not had time to do it yet so it is sans roof right now. It has the usual rust spots most of which are evident in the photos. The rear sil is still solid, as are the floors front and rear. The interior is perfect as are the rear jump seats. The winner get the truck plus the removed original engine, a spare set of front and rear axles. I will also through in a spare hood, rear half door. So plan on having a truck or flatbed available, the engine weighs @600#, the axles @ #250 per. I will throw in any other parts I have laying around if the price is right. I need a $500 non refundable deposit within three days of the auctions end. The remainder of the money can be paid via bank check or cash at pickup. The title will not be released without payment in full. If you have issues with pickup I can hold the truck 1 month with payment in full.
