The Jetta is in very good condition- One owner, no smoking in the vehicle. My wife was pulling away from the curb into traffic when a guy driving an old pickup truck turned the corner a little too tightly as she was entering traffic, resulting in a no-fault sideswipe. I am still surprised that this is reported as "Moderate" damage on the accident report. The door panel was ordered from Volkswagen directly (the accident happened in early '06 when the car was less than 6 months old) due to the newness of the body style and model year. It was replaced and painted by Lacy Paint and Body in Americus, GA. Total cost for the job was $650.00 and we paid them out of pocket rather than filing with the insurance (which had a $500 deductable anyway). I have serviced the car myself since it was new with the 5W-50 synthetic motor oil specified by Volkswagen. The only factory service that we have had on the vehicle was warranty work replacing a faulty break light sensor switch, performed at Butler Volkswagen in Macon, GA. We are selling because we have three vehicles and only two drivers. We are expecting our first child, so the Jetta is out and the Mitsubishi Endeavor is staying because of the extra room. I drove this car the last year for work when I covered the Southeast for my job. The last long trip that I took in it was from Southwest GA to Baton Rouge, LA, back up through Mississippi to Little Rock, AR and the returning to GA. I got about 32 mpg out on the highway. It will average about 24-26 mpg in town, depending on who's driving. We will have the car fully detailed inside and out before pickup/delivery.
