Ferrari 348TS The Ferrari 348 is widely regarded among the tifosi as the car that truly brought Ferrari into the modern era. A vastly superior car to its predecessor – the 328 – the 348 featured a dry-sump, 3.4 liter, quad-cam V8 mounted midship, and was visually distinguished by styling cues borrowed from the Testarossa, most notably its straked side air intakes. A truly engaging car to drive, the 348 also birthed Ferrari's hugely successful Challenge series, when the factory-prepared 348 Challenge model burst onto the scene. Presented in classic Rosso Corsa red with tan leather interior, this well enjoyed, but well-cared for example has covered a little over 70,0000 miles from new. With its original tool kit, owner's manual and booklets, this local Southern California native has been carefully maintained by only two owners who have cherished the car. The engine is taut and in good tune, transmission shifts smoothly, brakes, suspension, steering, and all electrical systems work perfectly. At this time, I am awaiting a copy of the receipt for a recent major service. The interior is excellent with minor wear to the drivers seat’s leather surface, while the passenger seat looks completely unused. Dash, carpet, panels and targa top are all excellent. Well-maintained 348s are capable of considerable, Toyota-type mileage before rebuilds are necessary, and higher mileage cars provide a surprisingly rewarding drive. There is a fluidity to their feel that only comes with gentle use. It is well-worth inspection.
