I have a wandering eye, so it’s time to sell my spectacular 1987 MR2 to make way for another collector car. This time capsule has only 16,829 original miles as verified by all records from day one proving the mileage. Technically, I am the third owner - the first in Texas owned it from 1987 to 2009 and then it was sold to a collector in Utah who sold it to me. This MR2 has NO modifications – it is as original as the day it was first sold at Treadaway Motors in Richardson, Texas (except for the A/C upgrade, newer tires and normal maintenance items). The super white paint is flawless - no scratches, rock chips or blemishes. Even all the stickers look brand new! The interior is nearly perfect - the upholstery and carpets are like new. There are no cracks in the dash, and all the glass is clear and unblemished. Of course all the lights, radio, switches and gauges work as they should. The only "flaws" on the car are a few nicks on the wheels and a small wear mark on the bottom of the driver's seat cushion (pictured). The car drives perfectly and reminds me of my Lotus Esprit with its mid-engine balance and handling. It's a fantastic sports car with mileage numbers of 26 city and 32 highway! This MR2 has been completely checked out and serviced by authorized Toyota dealers, including all belts replaced before I put it into my climate-controlled garage for the winter (featured in the photographs). I have the original window sticker, the original bill of sale, a 1987 MR2 brochure, all of the manuals that came with the car and both sets of keys - a collector's dream! The car is equipped with all options except power windows and locks. Optional Equipment on this MR2: Air conditioning ($795) blows ICE COLD; Aerodynamic spoiler package ($475); Aluminium alloys ($425); Consumer protection plan - sealants, rust proofing, silent alarm, sound shield ($569.95); and MR2 carpeted floormats ($49.95) When was the last time you saw an MR2 that looked like this one?
