The Midget was located about three hours away so we planned to go finalize the deal and drive the Midget home. Sounded like a good idea! After some last minute negotiations the owner delivered the Midget to me by way of a flatbed. Now I had myself a hobby car, A 1971 MG Midget MKIII. When I went out to find a shop that could do the work I needed I found two older gentlemen. The man behind the counter had worked as a salesman for the MG Dealership and the head mechanic worked as a mechanic for the same MG dealership. JACKPOT!!! From early 2002 through mid 2007 I had a total investment of $15, 117.15 including purchase Price. Other than the interior that was nonexistent I focused on the running gear as my mechanics told me that the engine and transmission were in Good shape, the Midget runs strong. Do to health reasons I can no longer operate the Midget and now it just sits for months at a time before I can brow beat one of my children into taking the Midget for a ride. The Midget has no heater and I saw no reason to install something I wouldn’t use. All gauges work and I upgraded the radio to a Stereo AM/FM CD Player, this makes for a great ride.
