Vehicle Detail
I bought this VW in the hopes of getting it fixed up but have lost interest in it, and have too many other projects to complete it. The car has many new parts on it, but also needs many things to be done to complete. New parts on vehicle: Brake drums, shoes, and master cylinder. All new interior and seat belts including seats that have had new padding installed and recovered. New oil pressure (2), voltmeter, fuel level gauges and new fuel sender in tank. Wiring is all new (has been converted to 12 volt). The engine has new pistons and cylinders, inake manifold and Weber Progressive carb, Alternator, Distributor, and 1 5/8 exhaust. Tires are all new, the rears are 31 x 10.50 / 15 and the fronts are 205/75r/15 General Grabber A/T's. CV Axles are new, as are the headlights, taillights, turn signal indicators and shifter. Needs to be completed: The sunroof needs to be assembled, I have all the necessary parts including new cables and seals. I also bought the 1 piece side window kits (including new window regulators) and started to install them on the passenger side door but have not completed. I have all the parts that came off the door if buyer wanted to reinstall the original ones. In the pictures you can see the right door panel is still off the car (those are new as well). The tilt frontend works well, I have a few new zeus tabs to replace the ugly ones. I also have a plastic bin full of misc. parts that go to the car. Car also needs to be tuned for emissions, I ran it through once but it is a little rich, nothing a little jetting wouldn't fix. Now for the rest. I have driven this car at 70mph on the highway, the frontend needs an alignment, but other than that the car ran good. I had the wheels sandblasted and painted but the right rear has a leak, I believe it is where the wheels seem is at, I dropped some water on the seem and it bubbles. It is a very small hole and takes a few days for the tire to get low. I was going to have the tire taken off and the wheel welded on the inside. That should take care of it. The paint on the inside is good the paint on the outside is very faded. The odometer says 82016 miles, I do not know if that is accurate or not. I placed a 2 next to the oil gauge and the reason for this is that there seems to be a grounding issue with the circuit. When the oil gauge was installed it worked correctly but has since went all the way up and won't return. If i unplug the wire from the back it goes down. I unplugged the sending unti wire with no change, i tried a new gauge and still no change. I assure you it has oil pressure since i have driven the car many times without any problems. I will give the buyer both new gauges. Vehicle is being auctioned as is so make sure you ask any and all questions before you bid. Remeber this is and old car. There is no warranty expressed or implied. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required at the end of auction, with the rest to follow within 7 days.
