Vehicle Detail
Here is a 1970 Chevy Nova. I bought it about a year ago for $6500 with the plan of restoring it, but have had little time to do so. I am being deployed to Afghanistan this summer and have bigger things to worry about than a restoration project or storage issues for this car, so she needs to go. My loss is your gain, I'm starting the price for this vehicle at a great bargain. I am not attempting to scam or hide any information---I am just an honest guy trying to get rid of a car. Now for a little about the vehicle itself: Exterior: Its a head turner. It is a recent paint job (about 2 years ago), with slight chipping in a few spots, but nothing very obvious. There is a small amount of what appears to be hail damage (5 or 6 miniscule dents), and a very dark tint on the windows. Interior: The headliner and sail panels are missing, the seats are not original, and the rear panels are missing, front panels are fabric. Aftermarket oil pressure and temperature gauges, no odometer, and original speedometer. Needs work. Transmission: Saginaw 4 Speed, is fully operational but needs to be tuned up/rebuilt. Shifting up is very smooth, but in order to downshift to second RPM's must be low. Engine: 5.7 L 350 small block. Mileage unknown. I believe it to be about a 1986 Corvette motor that has been pieced together. She ran great when I bought her, but required some work on the timing/distributor. The distributor has recently loosened up and fails to hold any sort of timing, so the vehicle is CURRENTLY INOPERABLE. It has a Holley carb that needs a little tweaking now and then to keep the mixture just right. Battery was moved to the trunk of the vehicle due to rust. Exhaust is dual straight pipe Flowmasters---they sound very, very mean. The fan is not original, it is a radiator mounted electric fan, and does a great job of cooling (however, it will overheat in bumper to bumper 2 hour traffic jams in 120 degree heat). Brakes: Original drum. Electrical: Turn signals, headlight (aftermarket Halogen), and brake lights are all golden. Interior overhead light and windshield wipers are also operational. This vehicle passed a Texas state inspection. Trunk: Used to have a leak, and rusted out the trunk pan. I replaced the seal, and the leak is fixed but the original pan is rusted out and has been replaced with sheet metal. As stated the vehicle is currently not in working order. However, with a replacement distributor and a few minor tune ups I am more than confident it will work just fine. I worked on an drove this car for about 7 months, and it is a total blast. No power features, only horse power. It is very easy to burn out all thru first and second gear... good for conversation and testosterone. This is the perfect car for the restoration you had in mind. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email (I have limited email access) or call me (706)-726-3045. Pickup must be arranged by the buyer, payment required within one week of auction end. *There is no warranty expressed or implied. The vehicle is 41 years old, and I am already selling it at a 50% loss*
