Up for sale is a low mileage 1991 Mercedes 190e. I have had this car for the last 4 years and it has treated me well. Unfortunately, the car now needs head work as the camshaft has snapped. The head gasket was replaced and the timing chain tensioner went bad and caused the chain to have too much tension which snapped the camshaft. I assume there is valve damage. The car ran strong until this happened. I have recently replaced the over voltage protection relay ($50.00), fuel pressure regulator ($330.00), fuel filter, mid exhaust pipe, radiator, cap and rotor, cooling hoses, and many breather hoses that were dry rotting, headlight covers. The battery is in good condition and has a warranty at Advance auto, and the tires are in decent condition. This car originally had front passenger side damage and was repaired before I got it. The previous owner was an older gentleman who rarely drove the car. It had 57,000 mile when I got it in 2006. The car drove as straight as an arrow and no problems with tire wear. I no longer have the time or ambition to work on this car and it is time for me to let it go. I am sure the car would drive beautifully if the head was rebuilt or you could strip the parts for a current project. The car has a good NJ inspection sticker until May of 2011.
