1976 Cadillac Coupe DeVille Calais Rare Regent Customs Edition! (1 of 200 made) Only 20k Original and Actual Miles! Gorgeous Condition! When I was a kid, our teacher asked us to write an essay on our favorite place on earth. Believe it or not, I wrote about the interior of a 1976 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. The reason for this was when I was about 8 years old, my Uncle took me car shopping for the first time in my life. He knew I loved big luxury cars even though all my friends and cousins love sport cars. We stopped at a Lincoln dealer first and then went to a Cadillac dealer. There on the showroom floor was a triple black Coupe DeVille. The salesman let me sit in the driver's seat and while he was showing my Uncle the options and he had the stereo playing. I remember so vividly the way the soft bass played and the way I felt right then and there about this car. It impacted me so much, that I would always yell out to my father, "There's another one dad!!" which in turn got me an A+ on my essay and I had to read it to the class it because the teacher loved it so much. As I grew older and cars were getting smaller and sleeker, I was always partial to the 76 Caddy Coupe DeVille. Probably one of the largest production cars ever produced in the 70's and back then bigger always meant better. 1976 was the last year a Cadillac would ever be this large and in my opinion, the last time she would ever be designed so massive, so muscular yet so gracefull. Now when I see these cars I always have to smile and think about my childhood. When you see one of these cars today, they're almost like seeing ghosts on the road as the old war horses just glide down the road. My uncle did buy the 1976 Coupe DeVille, but he bought a blue one with a white interior. When we came across this beauty I couldn't wait to share my experience with you through this Caddy. Please read the ad below that describes this low mileage 1976 Cadillac Coupe DeVille! Here is the story on this Caddy as we heard it and as we'll pass it on to you. Its a 1976 Cadillac Coupe DeVille Calais with the Regent trim package. The best way I can explain what this Regent package is is if you remember the "Choo Choo" edition Chevy El Caminos, they came off the assembly line and went to Choo Choo Customs for badging upgrades. Well from what I was told the first 200 Calais that came off the production line went to the Regent Customs shop to get added the custom grill, hood ornament and badging. Now please, let me know if you know something different, because this was told to us by a Cadillac enthusiast. If the story is true this is a possibly one of the rarest 1976 Coupe DeVilles and with only 20k miles very collectible too. The Exterior: The exterior presents itself very well. There is evidence of some minor touch up here and there but would stand tall at any car show and is very appealling to look at. It almost takes your breath away its so large. The paint shines excellent and the chrome is brilliant. The vinyl top is in mint condition. All the glass is clear and chip free. All lights and marker lights are clear and free of cracking or hazing. The appearance is indicative of a 20k mile car. All the bumper extensions are perfect. The hood hinges are sturdy as I know these are a problem with this era car because of the massive hood. The hubcaps are excellent and the tires appear new. Please look at the pictures, as we took so many, and study them. Please let us know of any questions you may have. We are here to help. The Interior: The interior is in MINT condition. There is no signs of wear anywhere on the interior. All aspects of the interior are indicative of a 20k mile vehicle. The seats, dash, carpets and headliner are all mint condition. No rips, no tears, no cracks, no punctures or wear. It really is truly amazing. This is an unrestored interior and is mint condition. Please, however, look at all the pictures we took of the interior, study them and ask questions if you got em. We are here to help. The Drivetrain: The engine is this car is the massive 501 cu. inch big block. The biggest engine out at that time and the last year the Coupe DeVille would see this legendary engine.. The 501 moves this titanic effortlessly. There are no knocks, taps, smoke or noises under this hood. The transmission shifts flawlessly and with this combination puts plenty foot pounds of torque to the ground to push you through any driving situation. All the brakes, tires, shocks, belts, hoses and suspension are all road worthy. All steering is tight and responsive as well. There will be no dissappointments. But as I stated through out this description, ask me questions if you got em. In Summation: I'm not going to lie to you and say that this is the nicest Coupe DeVille you'll ever find. I'm not going to tell you that you better hurry up and bid. But I will say this, these cars are so hard to find in this condition and this low of mileage. Will these big luxury liners ever be worth as much as the late 60's early 70's muscle cars? I don't know, but if history repeats itself, as it normally does and as this era of collectors start collecting cars from thier childhood, there will be no reason why these cars won't be as valuable as the muscle cars are now.
