This auction is for a 1959 Edsel Corsair Convertible. 1959 is said by some to be the best year, these cars were only produced from 1958 to early 1960. The Edsel was a make of automobile manufactured by the Ford Motor Company during the 1958, 1959, and 1960 model years. The car brand is best known as one of the most spectacular failures in the history of the United States automobile industry. It’s in great condition throughout! All the mechanics work properly, looks great and is fun to drive! 2010 Now may be the time to pick up a '59 Edsel, while they remain at "bargain" prices, quoted from the Edsel Price Trend Analysis. This very rare Corsair convertible is in great condition everywhere you look. Total production was only 1343 for the ‘59 Corsair Convertible model year and is a very rare to find one for sale, let alone one that is in the condition this one is, this car may be one of the best in the country. The best part it is covered in the correct factory color of code FF President Red with White top and factory code 44 Black vinyl bolsters with Red vinyl inserts. The miles on the odometer show 82,581 and is believed to be original to the car. The engine bay is highly detailed, the paint is very nice as is every piece of chrome and stainless. Turn over the optional super express 361 V-8 engine and quite rumble from the exhausts hits a sweet tune. Driving it, you will appreciate the ride and handling characteristics. The optional dual power 3-speed auto transmission shifts smoothly, the brakes stop the car quickly and securely. It’s is a blast to drive!

The body is in very nice condition. The metal is clean and straight with no signs of damage. The paint is smooth and reflects everything in sight. The chrome is in very nice condition overall, all the glass is in great shape with no chips or cracks. To mention a few of the hard to find factory options such as the Edsel dual exhaust tips, dual mirrors, push-button Radio and power top. One other wheel cover option for the 1959 Edsel was the larger 1958 Edsel wheel cover with the spinner applied a hole in the center allows the "E" to still be displayed. The correct bias-ply wide whites are also new and add to the originality. The underside is solid with no evidence of rot. All the mechanical components are in good repair.

Overall this is a rare opportunity to own a true piece of American history of the automobile industry and the Edsel Ford legacy or one of the biggest mistakes in Ford’s history either way it truly a rare find.
