Vehicle Detail
1979 Plymouth Volare Wagon 61K Original Miles!!! Legendary Slant 6!! You are veiwing a 1978 Plymouth Volare Wagon. This is a 2nd elderly owned vehicle that runs great and will probably run forever with the slant 6. The second owner only had to let this car go due to health reasons. He was 74 years old and felt it was time to sell her. He loved this car so much he re did the woodgrain over because it was starting to haze and peel. He actually did an excellent job at it and he was so proud to tell us how he did it and the amount of time it took him. The car has brand new tires and a completely new exhaust. Please read below for further detail and look at the pictures. If you have more questions please let us know, We're here to help. Exterior: The exterior of this car is beautiful for its age. I didn't say perfect, but presents itself very well. The wood grain was tastefully done and actually looks great. The car has no rot on the car and very little surface rust in places that doesn't show up in the pictures. The chrome is decent and the paint shines very good considering its age. All the glass is clear and all the lights operate as they should. Please look at the pictures for further detail. Interior: The interior is beautiful as well. Showing very little wear for its age, it presents itself very well. There is 1 dry crack due to age on the dash and believe it or not, the 74 year old gentleman we acquired the car from DID put the cd player in. He was so proud of that as well. He called it "modern technology". All the guages and lights work well inside the interior. Please look at the pictures for further detail. Drivetrain: The drivetrain is the Super Six - Slant six. Which does what it says and says what it does. The motor sounds like a slant six and produces plenty of power and burns very little fuel. The tranny shifts great and the tires and brakes are virtually new. All belts and hoses are road worthy. The previous owner did take the a/c compressor out and a/c hoses because it didnt work. He threw it out because he said he never needed the a/c anyway and if he took it out he would get better mileage. Its got a new alternator and the guy did put a manual choke on the carburetor. The car is a little finicky until it warms up and runs great. We drove it a little over 60 miles and ran great and we are confident that it will make either a long trip or short trip. Feel confident in driving in and flying home. Summation: This is an excellent example of a well kept, classic station wagon. Its not perfect but presents itself very well and would actually stand pretty proud at any local cruise night or show. Please if you have any questions or uncertain about anything about this car, please let us know. We are here to help, whether you buy the car or not. Thanks for veiwing this rare little wagon! Payment: I require a $300 non refundable deposit via paypal immediately after auction end. The rest due within a week either by cash in person or certified funds. Car has to be paid in full within 1 week from close of auction. However I can help with storage until you get situated with either shipping or picking it up.
