Vehicle Detail
This sale is for an Original 1965 VW beetle. By original, I mean that much of the car has been preserved in its unaltered state since brand new. The car does NOT represent a restored daily driver, but a very well preserved vehicle that can effortlessly serve as a daily driver right now. A very light refurbishment of this vehicle would render it near perfect. All of the paint has been buffed, retouched as needed, and waxed. Where the previous owner primered specific spots on the body, to keep the car from rusting, I have resprayed with matching blue enamel. Aside from the paint, the pan of the car is doing quite well for its age. The battery box has the usual rust holes which encompass about four inches in total. None of the interior has been redone, as you will see from the pictures it is in near perfect condition. The carpet could be replaced but the pictures show that there is no immediate need for its replacement. The pan is in fine condition other than the few areas under the battery. The original engine has been replaced by a new, 10,000 miles, 1600cc 12 point conversion engine. Because the engine has not been used extensively it runs without any problems and easily pushes the car along at highway speeds. The four speed original transmission shifts strong and was inspected when the motor was replaced. Since its purchase from the previous owner, the car has been garage kept all year round and driven only when the weather permits. I easily used this car as a daily driver, but must let it go to make way for other projects. As I mentioned earlier, the car needs only a few simple replacements or refurbishments to make it A quality. I have not done these myself because I value the car in its original condition, it is quite rare to find such a piece of history in this preserved state. Here is a list of items that will need replacing if the next owner would like to restore the car: Radio is not original and I do not have the originalCarpets need replacement Batter box needs mending All bumpers are orinal German manufacturing but will need to be re-chromedNo leaksGlove box is in perfect condition
