1979 Chevrolet Corvette V-8 Automatic Runs and Drives Great Beautiful Silver Paint Up for bid is my 1979 Chevrolet Corvette. I have had this vehicle for the last couple years. The owner before me put a super slick silver paint job on the car and had the motor and transmission freshened. The car runs and drives fantastic. I have not really driven it much, it has sat in the garage more than anything. I did have to put an alternator on it earlier this year. This is not a show car, or perfect by any means. I bought it with the intention of sprucing it up, but other projects have gotten in the way as far as time and money are concerned. The interior is ok, but I was planning on getting new carpet, seat covers, and door panels. The horn and radio do not work. The A/C is also inoperable, and the compressor is locked up. The speedometer does not work, so neither does the odometer. I believe the cable is broken, which controls both. The owner before me did not latch the t tops down properly at some point, and they are scratched up from flying off the car. They can both be repainted for about $200, but I always drive with the tops off, so I did not have it done yet. There is a chip in the windshield, which may or may not bother the next owner. It is missing one of the center caps for the wheels. The drivetrain is GREAT! The motor is strong, with no funny noises, the transmission shifts on time every time. The car has flowmaster mufflers on it so it sounds tough. This is 31 year old car. I recommend anyone serious about buying it to come check it out in person. Please do not bid if you have no intention of buying. I have sold things on here before and have had non paying bidders. I would like a $500 paypal deposit at the end of the auction. This car is being sold AS-IS where is with no warranty express or implied. This Corvette has a low reserve.
